Rated 3.5 out of 5?by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5?by Wish we had never left We are OLD!!!! REALLY old!. We decided that senior livng was for us. What a mistake. We LOVED our apartment at Providence Pointe and as soon as possible, will be moving back. Noise was NOT a problem, but of course, we are probably deaf. Maintenance was great as was the office staff. Can you believe we moved because we couldn't find someone to take the trash to the dumpster? DUMB!!!!!! For seniors this is a problem. Also, if we had any complaint, it would be that putting the mailboxes in each building on the ground floor, it would be an added advantage. We hope to get out of this "senior living" place and move back to Providence Pointe. Loved it...especially the LARGE pantry. August 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5?by Good place with lots of extras I actually live at Providence Pointe West, which is right next door. The complexes share the same front office. My initial move-in was a rough start, but things got ironed out. I love my apartment. My building is pretty quiet, but sometimes I do hear the neighbors walking around. I like that you can add things to your lease such as a cleaning service for when you move out. The gym will be opening soon, and I can't wait for that. I looked at quite a few apartments before coming here, and this place had them all beat. June 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5?by Best Decent apartments.Away from the crowd and noise. They got better at cleaning snow.i agree with thin walls but i have been to most of apartments in desmoines and i would say providence pointe maintenance is good. overall a decent place to live @ March 1, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5?by NOT A GOOD PLACE TO LIVE! This is not the ideal place to live. I used to live on the east side and came here and the place on the east side was a million times better and who would have ever imagined that! we live in Iowa something you would think most people pay attention to is how the snow is taken care of well here they either do not take care of the snow at all or they make one path in the middle and block all the residence cars in. When it snows you better have a shovel other wise your stuck they block you in so bad with the snow. Its better if they chose to just not touch the snow. we are paying over $1000 dollars to live in some apartments for them to make our lives even more difficult when it snows. Also with the noise the walls are paper thin and you cant even cough without your neighbor hearing you. the insulation is absolutely horrible. once again we pay over $10000 a month to live in these what look nice that arent so nice apartments to not live in peace. moving to providence pointe in johnston was one of the biggest mistakes in my life! Rated 4 out of 5?by Great place to live! I have lived in my apartment for 2+ years and couldn't be happier! The staff is friendly and helpful. The apartments are large and open with wood laminate flooring and full size washer and dryer ( a must for me). Walk in pantry is a great bonus! The location is perfect and has the feel of being on the edge of town yet easy access to freeways. Highly recommend! September 12, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5?by Cheap Construction, Cheap Feel We are living in Providence Pointe West next to PP. While our neighbors are pretty quiet we can hear EVERYTHING. We hear the people next door laughing, the guy below us using the bathroom (not just the flush) and the whole building shakes if kids or adults walk quickly down the hall. While the Providence Pointe buildings have secured entrances to the building, West does not. We are constantly being bothered by religious groups and restaurant marketers knocking on our doors or taping flyers to them. Recently a soda machine was added to the middle of the hallway in our entrance. We no longer feel like this is our home but instead a motel we're just passing through. We have not had to utilize maintenance which is a positive. However, the no brand microwave takes twice as long to heat, the paper thin laminate floors come up at the seams the second a drop of water hits and the large pantry cannot hold near as much as we were hoping since the racks are really cheap. Don't even get me started on the mini blinds. Unless you never touch them, they will probably end up bending and you'll end up paying. Interestingly, the apartment is built for the 6 feet tall and over crowd. This could be a basketball players dream apartment if he/she is okay with tiptoeing so they don't cause the place to come crashing down. The closet organizers are so tall, if you're under 5'11" you'll need a step ladder. The breakfast bar is also shockingly tall. With traditional stools, don't expect more than your head and neck to clear the counter. Why give this place three stars and not two? Good neighborhood, good schools, and close but not too close to the interstate. August 25, 2013
