Welcome to Asheville, where mountain scenery meets artistic spirit in the heart of Western North Carolina. Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains at the confluence of the French Broad and Swannanoa rivers, this mountain city combines outdoor adventure with a thriving arts scene. Downtown features preserved Art Deco architecture housing galleries, restaurants, and breweries, while the historic Montford neighborhood showcases Victorian homes along tree-lined streets. The University of North Carolina at Asheville campus contributes to the city's energy, and the Biltmore Estate stands as a testament to American history. Renters can choose from modern apartments to historic bungalows, with average rents ranging from $1,263 for studios to $2,232 for four-bedroom homes, with rates down about 4.5% over the past year.
The Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby hiking trails provide easy access to outdoor recreation.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Woods Townhomes
Half of the apartments in multiple buildings are condemned because of such terrible maintenance they are now unsafe to live in. The whole building is slanted and leaning. Constant problems with the water being turned off due to a “major leak”. We have called multiple times about getting our heat fixed and it took weeks for them to even come out to look at it when they have a maintenance man dedicated to the complex. Calling me because they can’t find copies of my check for rent even though they already cashed them. Parking if you get home after 8pm is a five minute walk because the first two lots are always filled. Definitely not worth the amount they charge for rent especially with no in unit laundry. I would pay the extra $100-200 for somewhere they actually care about their tenants and the water and heat actually work.
Property Manager at Woods Townhomes, Responded To This Review
Reply — We are sorry to hear how our renovations and subsequent maintenance water line leak impacted your stay with us. We have spent millions of dollars improving these units and we realize that people living in our units during these improvements endured some hardships. Typically, if a tenant had a problem we would discuss it and reduce rents in accordance with the disturbance. Thank you for your feedback and we understand.
