I like my apartment. The staff is very courteous. However, there are chronic issues with both elevators and the laundry machines which have made living here very unpleasant. If it weren't both expensive an inconvenient, I would move to another residence as soon as my lease expires.
Woodley Sara is a great place to live. We love living here. Everybody here has been so friendly.
The building itself looks nice on the outside, but the reality is it's simply uncomfortable to live here. First, the laundry system has been down for months so we have to do our laundry out of the building. That would be fine if it were the only issue. The main elevator breaks down constantly and people are often stuck inside. The building also seems to have a problem with bugs and we have little roaches in our apartment and had to have an exterminator come by which hasn't fixed the problem. Alarms (fire alarms and the smoke alarms inside the apartment itself) go off all the time often in the middle of the night. The saving grace is that maintenance is wonderful as the head of maintenance lives in the building and always takes care of things. Overall I would NOT recommend moving here. Renter beware!!
Welcome to Woodley Sarah, “professionally managed by Graystar”. The professional management will make sure to keep you busy with daily surprises. From getting stuck inside the elevator and panicking for nonstop false fire alarms to shutting off water for days, and out of order/dirty laundry rooms and laundry dispenser. The backyard is decorated with different size and shapes of dog poop which are not getting cleaned. It’s a nonsmoking apartment for the benefit of smokers. I should admit that they are really “professional” at imposing extra charges like parking, insurance, utility etc. The packages are being stolen and it’s not a safe building.
The building its self is very nice, but maintenance has been very poor. Since moving in 7 months ago, the main elevator has gone offline almost weekly and some times for up to two weeks at a time. At least three times the LAFD has had to be called to reduce someone from a stuck elevator. The laundry pay system has been broken for a total of six weeks which means having to go outside the building to wash your clothing. The staff here is doing their best, but appear to have their hands tied by the ownership in terms of who they can hire to repair major systems which are down.
I love Woodley Sara. Everybody is so friendly and the building is clean.
I really wanted to tour this apartment. Looks very nice and just what I needed. I entered my phone number and info on the their website and on here for a call back for a tour. I have called both the number On their website and in front of the building. NOTHING. left a message and nada.
Only been here a little over a week but I'm am so happy with this complex. They keep it clean, management is very polite and prompt with any issues that may occur.
The leasing staff lie about everything, manipulate for their own gain, and enable other crazy tenants. Do not rent from these people.
Overall management is OK maintenance is OK very nice people you’re hired but definitely need to be more transparent and more through what they expect out of every tenant More clear communication is needed
I scheduled an appointment to view an apartment with this building and it was terrible. First off, they couldn’t even find my appointment in their system and when I spoke to the representative about it over the phone, she sounded rude. She tried to do a very quick tour of the place, but she came off very stand-off-ish and a little hostile. They charge an arm and leg and the surrounding area is a dump. Don’t even ask if utilities are included; they’ll price gauge you. Rent elsewhere. They should hire competent people who actually know what they’re doing.
I moved here after jumping from place to place in the past due to inconsistent management. Woodley Sara is the perfect place! The manager, Patty always has her door open for her tenants and follows up with any issues in a timely manner. Pros: - Large windows allowing natural light - Open floor plan - Modern plaint and finishes - Stainless steel appliances - Mostly next day maintenance response - Large outdoor storage closet - Google Nest A/C System Cons: - I would have loved to have washer and dryer in unit but there are 4 washers and 4 dryers in each floor (4 floors total) which is also great.
Terrible manager. Overpriced for conditions. Nothing gets fixed. Elevators are always down. Fire alarms falsely turn on all though the day and night. Manager ignores EVERYTHING!
My neighbors are quiet. Everyone is respectful of the shared spaces. There is security at night. The garage is secure. Maintenance gets work done quickly and the cleaning staff is great! Patty is always quick to help if I need anything. She's great and very pleasant!
I live her at Sara Woodley. The apartments and rooms are very spacious, overall the apartments are very nice. i enjoy being able to have all the amenities available and could just move in. All my friends and family are in awe when they see my apartment. comparing to many apartment buildings I have seen this one is by far one of the best. Security officer is available on site which is very nice, i feel safe and secure. Management is great! have had no problem solving any issue that i had, they always try to work with me as i am a demanding tenant. I want to thank Patty and Camille for everything, i know i am not an easy tenant. Camille is the best, never had a manager like her before so i definitely would recommend anyone renting here. You will feel and notice the difference once here comparing to other places, it is conveniently located and I can honestly say that i am happy to be here. Thank you!!!!! Shirmeena

This is the worst management i have ever seen. Camille the building manager is rude and just a horrible person to deal with. we moved out a couple months ago and i have been in contact for my deposit ever since. 4 months have gone by and i have not see a dollar back. The worst part of it all is that i have been emailing them consistently and have gotten nothing back. I spoke to patty and asked for a copy of my lease agreement and she said she would get it to me and that was over a month ago. Today i called and camille picked up the phone and was extremely rude to me i asked her whats going on with my deposit she put me on hold and then when she got back on the phone she said she doesn't have a answer for me. I then asked her for a copy of the lease by tomorrow and she hung up on me. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT.
I’ve lived at Woodley Sarah for almost 2 years and have loved it! The new management has been so great! They are quick to help when ever there is an issue and maintenance requests are taken care of quickly! Patti is the best she makes this complex a better place to live!

I actually incorporate the critiques that I receive and use them for improve my performance. It is the nature of apartment communities to have some change, but the more residents that we can keep and the longer that we can keep them - we feel fortunate and grateful. We love it when things are going well in your lives and you're fulfilled by your accomplishments and goals being attained. While I do lead the community's efforts, I want to take this opportunity to highlight the talents of other staff members, we have our Leasing Manager, Patty, she is a wonderful presence on our team and is readily available to assist residents. Her friendly and inviting demeanor is are true assets to the community. We also are very blessed to have the dedicated and persistent efforts of Felipe, our On-Site Porter. He takes responsibility to keep the community clean from the curbside to the very back of the building. He has been stalwart member of the Woodley Sara Apartments inaugural service team since the 2016 and we deeply appreciate him. We recently added the services of Jose, as our on-site Maintenance Technician, and his talents blow me away, on a daily basis. He is energetic and enthusiastic about his tasks and is just so resourceful. In summary, I am certainly glad to be given a candid account of your impression of my service and I will definitely work to change frowns to smiles. Rest assured that where my natural inclinations may be lacking, I work with amazing talents that lift me up and challenge me to improve...I'm going to get there!
