Resting just over six miles north of the Bronx and 15 miles north of the heart of Manhattan, South Side is a relatively quiet suburban section of the city of Mount Vernon, New York. Provides decent quality home for low income people in an "ok" neighborhood.

The apartments are decent size, the maintenance in the building isn't kept up on a regular. The stairs on the East wing of the building were broken for over a week and it took someone nearly falling to alert the building managers that they should fix the only way people can get to their apartments on the East side of the building. There aren't any elevators and it's not wheelchair friendly, but I'm just grateful that theres a roof over my and my family's head's, so there's not much more I can ask for.
