The Lanlord is a nightmare
I called the owner or landlord to try to schedule a showing of the apartment and he was a nightmare, the questions he asked was just completely rude, I would not want to imagine actually going through with renting this place from him because he would just be a pain, extremely rude no wonder this listing has been on here for so long

Rude Owner
I called the owner to speak about available apartments, he continued to ask if I smoked. I told him no and that my boyfriend didn't either, he seemed to not believe it. It was the most odd and uncomfortable conversation I've ever had with a business owner. He's an extremely rude individual.

I am sorry that the woman who called about an apartment at 1:53 pm on May 31 feels that I was rude. Yes, we only rent to people who do not smoke at all. Yes, I was persistent. When asked "How much to you or your boyfriend smoke?", one of the answers was "I don't think he smoke." My persistence in the questioning may have come off as rude. However, this is part of the service we provide. Or residents will never walk in our building and smell smoke. It is hard to make this claim and follow up.

Zero Stars
I rented from this company and from the first call the owner was rude. I thought maybe he had a bad day or something gave him the benefit of a doubt. Apartments were quiet and nice, but every time I had a question or talked to the owner he was rude and disrespectful. It was like I was majorly inconveniencing him just by asking a question. Best interaction I had was when I told him I would be leaving and it was a major relief to leave.

As I remember: 1. I met with you and your mother, I tried to answer all of your questions, we signed the lease, and the apartment was ready on your move in date. 2. I believe you had two maintenance requests. I believe I took care of them on a timely manner. I am sure I was very busy as I usually am. 3, I knocked on your door to review the check out procedure and exact date. I have very few problems with move outs if I communicate expectations properly. 4, Your security deposit was returned on 7/21/16, the date you moved out. 5. When you called about a mistake on your State Tax rent certificate, I was a trying to work through the mistake and your mother was also on the phone line and she began to take over the conversation. I stated that, it is our policy that we only deal with the adult who signed the lease and live in the apartment. I guess the person who wrote the review and his mother did not like policy and one of them almost immediately wrote the review 6. I do not remember any negative or confrontational interaction with the precious resident during the showing, application and lease signing process, during the resident's stay, or during the move out process. DO NOT RENT!!!
I only gave 5 stars to have my review read. I called this business and tried to ask questions about their apartments and HE WAS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. There are MANY better places in town for better prices and better customer service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to not rent from here. I will gladly pay more if I have to, rather than be treated so poorly.

Hello, this Rich Sommer. My wife and I own and manage Wilshire Woods Apartments. It is too bad the callers feels that way. I thing a review from someone who lives or has lived at Wilshire Woods would be entirely different. I would invite you to check apartmentratings dot com. We do try to get to know somethings about the prospective resident on the first phone. There are some callers that do like perusing the questions. With this information we try to determine if what we have will meet their housing needs. If court record reveal that this person has as a habit of violence against people of property, it is probably not a good match. Providing a clean, quiet and well maintained apartment home is our goal.

This is the owner of Wilshire Woods responding reviewer who felt that I was rude on the phone interview. I am sorry the caller feels that way. I will emphasis this is a caller, and most likely never toured Wilshire Woods Apartments, and certainly was not a resident. I would invite a prospective resident to visit our website and read the reviews of current or past residents. This is part of one review: "The owner cares for his residents and therefore is selective in choosing tenants. Do not be turned away by the owner's initial stern attitude. He cares for his residents and doesn't want them to have a difficult neighbor." We have many contacts that request a tour. I am more that happy to give a tour, because we do everything reasonable to get the apartment as close to new a possible. After twenty years, I had guest touring an apartment and ask if anyone have every living the apartment. Yes people had lived there for twenty years. We know how to "dig dirt." My wife got her training by cleaning the only five star resort in Colorado at the time. Before we schedule a tour I conduct a 15 point phone interview. It is really hard to tell people they will not qualify for the apartment. They must have a history of an adequate and stable income and not have a court record that is not in line with our stated screening policy. I am sorry that this calldr took the phone interview as rude. Thanks for reading.
