Apartment Reviews at Willowtree Apartments & Towers
Great Place for a Student
I have enjoyed my stay at Willowtree apartments. The staff is great and speedy. Although the apartments haven't been updated recently, they still maintain stability and performs their most basic functions. I am very satisfied with my choice.
I moved here to help my son with room and board. It's student housing. Can't help with tuition. Anyway, the place is a hole. No dishwasher(the "luck of the draw"),took 2 weeks for them to fix my son's bedroom window-wouldn't open. Huge hole in front closet door-they put a large white plastic thing over it-the door is brown. Very dirty-greasy cupboard doors in kitchen. Had to spray paint the stove and refrigerator because they were so scratched up. The list can go on. Lots of kids from abroad here at the University of Michigan. Wonder if they think we live like this? Oh, and the toilet was FILTHY when we moved in and didn't work. Had to use a huge bottle of CLR to clean it! Feel sorry for kids trying to improve their life with higher education!!
I would say I am pretty much disappointed with my stay in Willowtree apartment, I would give out zero star if I am able to. Several reasons: 1) roaches/bug problem. I lived in third floor, I have no idea how they climbed all the way to my living room, really nasty. People said it comes from bathtub. 2) heater was broken in Feb. Imagine it is almost zero Fahrenheit outside and your heater is not working in the middle of the night, that is a really unforgettable experience. I was freezing all the day and forced to stay in Duder library with nose sneezing. The problem lasts around 4 days. 3) unreasonable fee. Leasing office charge extra 200 bucks without any detail explanation, claiming I had conducted physical damage to the building, which I don't quite understand which part I have damaged. I emailed them but didn't get any reply. 4) safety. In the beginning of fall semesters, there was a naked male spotted in the midnight around apartment complex, I heard it from other people living here and also received crime alert from UM. The witness said she reported the case to leasing office immediately, and leasing office claim they cant help, she reported it to police later. 4.1) more about safety. There is no locker in the entrance gate, anyone can just get into your building and knock on your door or wait outside or stalk you. Plus locker in each apartment is pretty old, sometimes it cant be locked properly. 5) mail/package delivery. I received email saying they failed to mail me letters, but I provided the sender correct address. Sometimes Amazon package is left at front office but sometimes it is at door sometimes it is in front gate sometimes back gate, you never know. Come to live here if you enjoy old apartment with none or little maintenance, no safety guarantee (I am 5"3 female physically cant protect myself at night). Thanks for reading and enjoy your life at UM!
