Willow Crest Apartments

For the most part, the apartment complex is a good place to live and they try to make it as a safe as possible considering it’s surrounded by poor apartment buildings. They have really poor communication when it comes to fees/additional costs on your monthly rent. They don’t tell you about it until you ask and then they say “that’s just how it is”. It’s crazy expensive for no real reason. Before you sign a lease, just be clear about the expectations in fees and payments because otherwise they will just charge you for things that you didn’t even know you had to pay. I’ve been here for a year and the same neighbors are loud and disturbing even after multiple complaints, so it’s pretty frustrating paying so much money and dealing with the same annoyances while you drain your bank account.

I just moved here a couple of months ago and I do not regret my decision. The manager Dawn is very accommodating to my needs. She is Johnny on the spot and I appreciate that. The Maintenance team is superb. Matt is always walking around with a smile on his face while working. He makes sure to ask us if we need anything and he is there for us should anything comes up. This apartment complex is top notch!

I do not recommend this complex to anyone. Price increases, hidden outrageous fees, very poor communication. Makes for a bad experience all around regardless of how good amenities and maintenance might be. Could not leave fast enough.

My roommate and I moved here at the beginning of the school year and we are flat-out in LOVE! It's so close to campus and so much cheaper that the dorms. Plus we each have our own bathroom! No more sharing! The office staff in incredible, especially the manager Maranda. From the minute we took our tour until this very day we have had 0 complaints about this place. The 1 time we needed to have our faucet fixed it was even done the same day. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're not living here you're missing out!

What a complete 180 the property has done since the prior manager left! You no longer have to make an appt. to come into the office, you are now warmly welcomed in and are treated with respect. My apartment is a good size and I love my updated cabinets, countertop and stainless steel appliances. My FAVORITE feature Willow Crest offers is the new Amazon Hub locker. When I order something online, it's delivered into the office and put into a locker. I then receive a text message with the code for that particular locker. I am a med student so my schedule varies and now I can go to pick up my package at the leasing office 24 hours a day. No more lost, stolen or misplaced packages! I would recommend this property to anyone!

(1) Internet speeds are advertised as 100 Mbps. Speed tests resulted in peaks of 13 mbps and confirmation from ISP revealed contract is ACTUALLY 15 MBPS. Gamers get lost, you will not find solace here. (2) Property manager is attempting to force us to be responsible for prior damages. Upon entry you are given an inspection check list that explicitly states you have 48 hours to submit. Attempts to do so by the 40th hour resulting in receiving an email directly from the PM stating the window is allegedly 24 hours and our inspection is now invalid. (3) PM treats residents with immense disrespect and hostility. Try to walk into the office to ask a question, however, trivial? Get told to get out, but not before making an appointment to then return at appointed time to ask question. Funny, while we took the time to make that appointment, the PM took a personal call that was going 30 minutes and still by the time we left. The assistant sat with earbuds in and browsed Facebook. We get it now. They force the appointments because they don't wanna be caught slacking off. Not to mention, the PM is consistently late every morning. Solid work ethic here at Willow Crest. Stay away, folks. This place is currently a nightmare under this PM.

The community is not what it seems with the current management in place. Between the internet speeds being falsely advertised and the refusal by office staff to provide any form of assistance without making an appointment to even answer trivial questions, truly leaves this community with something to be desired. And that's some new leadership. Incredibly disappointed with Willow Crest office staff's rude and unhelpful demeaner. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, they lie about the window of time you have to submit your inspection checklist. They actively try to get new tenants caught on the hook to pay for the damages of previous tenants. Dated 03AUG18. Stay away!

My partner and I just moved into Willow Crest as at first glance, the community is indeed well taken of; the grounds are cared for, the roads are well kept, and the buildings all look to be in great maintenance, both inside and out. It seemed like a wonderful place to live! On top of all these positives, the property manager informed us the internet service speeds would be of 100 mbps, and included in the rent at a relatively cheap cost. Sounded great! Oh how naive we were. Upon moving in the property manager immediately becomes dodgy of any and all attempts at contact. Instead reminding us that the property management office of Willow Crest is a "by appointment" facility only. Attempts to walk in and ask any questions, however trivial, will be meet with a request to leave, make an appointment to ask said question, and then come back at that appointed time. Yet, attempts to call the main office and make said appointments have remained dodged. So how does one make an appointment to ask a question if one can't reach the employee who makes appointments? Additionally, the promised internet service speed of 100 mbps was in fact a lie. From using both a speed test hosted by the ISP and a third party website, the speeds reached peaks of 17 mbps. After contacting the ISP directly, we were informed the internet service speeds provided to this residence are not 100 mbps, but in fact 15 mbps as part of Spectrum's "Standard Legacy Plan" (this information can be confirmed by contacting their customer support line at 866-874-2389). Furthermore, there is an inspection checklist required to be filled out by the tenants upon the move in. According to the text written on this checklist, the tenants have approximately 48 hours to submit this sheet. Upon our attempt to submit, we were told the window is actually 24 hours, despite what was written on the paper that the property manager had handed us, and that ultimately our inspection sheet will be "disregarded". Something is wrong here. Stay away.

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. I am a current resident here at Willow Crest, I have been here for almost 3 years and up until new management (this past June) I have been a happy resident. New management is awful. I do NOT recommend ANYONE renting here. ****It is UNSAFE.**** Our apartment was recently broken into and multiple things and valuables where stolen. Management was rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful to not only myself but also to Toledo Police Department about the break in. Not only have my belongings been stolen but also multiple neighbors car(s) have been broken into and their belongings stolen. Also since new management we have received rude threatening e-mails about "over due" payments when there WASN'T one, and when called and confronted about it was told "just a automated e-mail to remind people to pay their rent." I'm appalled at how different this place is since Lisa (previous property manager) has left. She was amazing and truly made this place feel safe and like home. I can not wait until my lease is up next month, can't get out of here fast enough.

This complex is without a doubt the worst place I have lived. Living here used to be great (I was there through the management change). When they switched owners, the place went downhill quick. I had my car and my apartment (top story so don't let them convince you it's safe) broken into on separate occasions. The guy below me had his apartment broken into several times. All of this happened after management change because they felt that our safety was not worth paying for security details. New manager is very rude and has even hung up on me before. If you have any issues with management, they refuse to give out a supervisor contact. Don't bother looking online because it is not posted. Very strange, sketchy company with the worst service I have seen in my life. They frequently state all residents will be denied access to the pool if xxxx doesn't stopping doing xxxxx. They hold it over the head of everybody to get what they want from one person. I would absolutely without a doubt not recommend this place to ANYBODY. I've never had an issue with any apartment until this group. Please, please don't be fooled by these ladies and just walk away.
