Dripping Springs sits at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, where the landscape shifts from flat central Texas terrain into rolling cedar-covered hills — and it's earned its nickname, "Gateway to the Hill Country," honestly. About 20 miles west of Austin, this small city feels a world away from the capital's bustle while still keeping it within easy commuting distance. Vineyards, distilleries, and breweries dot the surrounding area, and the city's reputation as the wedding capital of Texas means there's always something going on. The local arts scene punches above its weight for a city this size, and outdoor spaces offer plenty of room to unwind.
Renters here will find a mix of apartment communities, townhomes, and single-family rental homes — options that reflect the area's small-town character without sacrificing comfort. Many communities offer spacious floor plans with Hill Country views.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
