Roughly one hundred miles west of Lincoln on Interstate 80, Grand Island is the largest city in central Nebraska. The popular Railside district anchors the city’s cultural scene, with live music constantly heard in venues like the historic Grand Theatre and the hip Railside Plaza, plus the eclectic cafes, bars, galleries, and specialty shops that fill the area.

Since 2010, Grand Island has served as the home of the Nebraska State Fair, which draws enormous crowds to Fonner Park every fall. The surrounding rivers and prairie offers endless opportunities to get up close and personal with the local wildlife— bird watchers come from far and wide to see the famous Sandhill Cranes, and the stunning beauty of the grasslands serves as a scenic backdrop for everyday life in Grand Island.
