Property Ratings at West End Flats
I lived at this property for over three years, and while it may look appealing on the surface, the reality is a long pattern of mismanagement, poor communication, and declining amenities. Management was overwhelmed and defensive, especially when safety concerns were raised. It often took multiple residents reporting the same issue, like a broken garage gate or elevator, before it was even addressed. And even then, the “solution” was often just accepting that the broken thing had become the new normal. My car was permanently damaged by ceiling leaks in the paid garage. I was moved to several different “new” spots, all of which also leaked. I ended up paying out of pocket for an exterior detail they refused to cover, and was treated disrespectfully just for asking. They shut down the community portal so residents couldn’t communicate with each other during a security breach. There was no real accountability, as the property manager’s direct supervisor is her own mother. Escalating issues to corporate was pointless. Many amenities were either removed, restricted, or neglected: A shuttle to nearby grocery stores and their sister property was discontinued during COVID and never returned. Pool hours were cut back years after restrictions were lifted. They even started charging to use common areas, including open walkway areas residents must use to take out trash, access the pool, or simply get to their units. Even after moving across the country, and over a year later, I’m still being contacted inappropriately. I recently received an accusatory email blaming me for a random person waiting in the lobby, someone I don’t know and who has absolutely no connection to me. The tone was rude, unprofessional, and factually wrong, with zero effort made to verify the information before pointing fingers. If you're considering this place, please talk to current residents and read recent reviews.
First and foremost, if you're looking for an apartment in a town where nearly everything is reachable within a short walk, in combination with a short commute by train to Center City Philadelphia, this place is unbeatable. As a former resident, I consider my time living at West End to have been a very positive one. The staff are very professional, the assigned parking offers easy access, and there is a nice park and coffee shop close by for walking the dog and grabbing a coffee. The units themselves are nicely apportioned in terms of size, and the applicances are above board. The only downside I can think of is the limited available parking for visitors, though that is more a limitation of the town's zoning, rather than that of the facility itself. The staff make every effort to ensure that the limited number of visitor spaces on offer remain avialble for resident's guests. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at West End Flats, and Media as a town. The unqiue character of the town and the comforts of West End on offer

This is an incredible community and so needed for the Media area. The staff has been amazing from day one and happy to assist with a smile. The amenities are gorgeous. It feels great to be at home. My children have asked if we could stay forever...that's all I needed to know that we made the right choice.
