Property Ratings at Wellington Place
Pros Ambience is good. Lots of parking spaces. Easier access to shops Cons :- Insulation of doors/windows are so old that even with heater you cannot stay warm inside. Temperature drops drastically inside apartment and hence lot of energy loss. It results in high electricity bills. Most of the appliances have old appliances which you wont feel until you start using that. Every month resulting in maintenance calls to get it repaired. Ants and spiders are common in kitchen and bathroom area. Trash location is quite far and during winter clearing trash is not fun at all. Staff :- Friendlier staff when you sign the lease. Will get some move in specials which attracts more people. But they will take it all back when you extend/leave the lease. While you extend the rent will go up by more than $200 plus high electricity bills will cost you a heavy amount on apartment. Also when you leave the apartment, you will be surprised to see the closing bill. Even if you leave the apartment in near to perfect condition, they will charge you saying some odor. The penalty depends on how many apartments are free during that time. If the occupants are less, they will extract more money from existing tenants by some fraudulent ways. You don’t any other option other than to pay this as your credit score is under their mercy.
I have been a resident of Wellington Place for two years. The buildings are nice looking, my floor plan is roomy and open, and I love the wooded courtyards that give a lot of privacy. The neighbors are mostly quiet. On the other hand, last year when my roommate and I renewed, Danielle told us she had no choice but to raise the rent and that we had no leverage to keep our rent the same because the other units of our floor plan were all filled at the time (that didn't last). I agreed to the rent increase on condition of having the carpets and the dryer vent cleaned. It took 2 wks to get weather stripping replaced that was dangling off our door and my pets spent a number of days unnecessarily confined and distressed because of it. They never took care of the carpet or the dryer vent, and my dryer died, costing hundreds for repair. The handyman said he cleared several feet of clogged dryer vent piping. There has been no routine maintenance, not even furnace filter cleaning, for well over a year. Last month while I was a work I got a phone call that there was a maintenance emergency, that the downstairs neighbors complained of a leak, that maintenance would be entering my apartment to investigate. I called the number provided several times, no answer. I called the apartment office, no answer. So I left work, picturing my pets at risk of escape with people coming in and out, and not knowing if my unit was flooded and there was damage to my belongings. I got to my apartment and no one was there. There was no water anywhere, and no note indicating that maintenance had been there. I went to the office in person, they called maintenance, who said there was a clogged condensate line in the AC unit (which keep in mind has not had any care or inspection for at least a year if not two) so the leak was in the floor. My roommate and I had been talking about whether to renew again. The rent has recently been listed for what we are paying now, plus ads for additional discounts on 2 bedroom floor plans. Multiple units are unoccupied. I emailed Danielle over three weeks ago to express my concerns with maintenance and ask what they would offer for a lease renewal. No answer. I emailed again a week ago, no answer. We are now moments away from the 45 day notice required and have conveniently gotten no reply. I left a voicemail with the office this morning asking to have my concerns addressed in writing, and will update this review if possible if/when I get a response.
I went to Wellington and the associate that helped me was extremely nice and showed me a 2 bedroom based on budget and square footage needs. I really liked the property and the amenities. After my tour I filled out an application and the next day paid the $99 deposit. I was told that I would receive a welcome letter and assumed that everything would be taken care of, but I had to call to follow up multiple times and then Danielle told me that I would actually owe an extra $400 for my deposit and that they had yet to do a rental authorization from my residence, this was 2 days before my move in date. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! The smiles are fake and you're just another sale. For the staff, be more respectful of peoples time and act with more of a sense of urgency. If you promise a move in time don't tell your future resident 2 days before move-in day, I work full-time retail and have to plan a schedule around moving.
My Husband and I have been living here for about 3 years now and love it! The staff is super helpful and maintenance is quick (not that we need them very often!) It's quiet and peaceful which is nice being so close to 96th street and everything you could need. I don't know that we will be living anywhere else while we stay in Indiana!
My husband and I have lived here for over a year. It's a great location, a quiet apartment neighborhood, very dog and kid friendly. The office staff is helpful, and the maintenance is reliable and on top of things. We like the size and layout of our apartment. There are only 2 things we don't love: that the dog waste disposal stations are inconveniently located on the property, so many people don't clean up after their pets; and disposing of trash is a big hassle because there are only two big trash compactors on the property, which you have to drive or walk your trash to. Sometimes the compactors are full and even overflowing, which gets smelly. But in spite of those inconveniences we are happy living here and plan to stay until we're ready to buy.
Property Manager at Wellington Place, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. We are always grateful to get our residents' input to help us improve our community. We would love to look into adding a pet station closer to your home, but we need your help. Please stop by the office or contact us with your building number, so we can see where we need to make this addition. Thank you, Wellington Place Staff
Wellington Apartments helped my boyfriend and I so much after a horrible experience somewhere else! We are so thankful for their staff and hospitality! We love our home!
Wellington Place is the best apartment community I've ever lived in and I've lived in 9 different communities during my adult life so far. The grounds are spacious and well maintained. The maintenance staff is responsive and friendly as are the office staff. Jimmy Johns less than 5 minutes away so you can have a sandwich at your door about 7 minutes after you place your order. Great location close to many different businesses, shops and restaurants. Great school system too. Can't go wrong when you select Wellington as your Fishers friendly apartment home.
I've been here for almost 3 years and love the peace and quiet!
It's okay but it's really pricey for what you get. Both pools were shut down for maintenance the majority of the summer. Bummerville.
