Property Ratings at Volta on Pine
Volta on Pine is an average apartment complex. The unit was clean upon move in, appliances all functional, however, it seemed as though our unit was broken into through the porch (there’s chipped paint in the doorway suggesting someone trying to get in and wires were pulled out of the WiFi box in the closet). The heating/cooling system is nice. Sink, and cabinets are poorly designed. I love the high ceilings for the aesthetic however our unit was missing the pull down curtains for the top windows so during the late afternoon, there was no way to avoid a glare on the tv or brightness in the unit. Room and living room are small, ample room for two people to live but definitely not large enough to host more than five people. There’s usually one elevator down in the lobby. The gym is fine, has usual equipment. Tv in yoga room doesn’t work. The lock on the gym door never worked so anyone can come in and out if they come into the building. The door leading to the hallway of my unit doesn’t have a doorknob so it’s propped open. There’s a mailroom but you have to get the code from management. The parking garage have had break ins (not me thank goodness), the parking stalls are really small. We had a horrible fruit fly problem during the summer, the garage room on our floor had been left full for over three months, so that was probably to worst thing we experienced while here. There’s pool area is nice, typical pool spa and bbq area. Many loud parties during the summer. Top floor sky room is my favorite amenity, offers awesome view of San Pedro and LA. Great for a little quiet moment to clear your head or someplace to have coffee or your dinner. The location is awesome, walking distance from food, groceries, shopping, entertainment. Id say Volta on Pine is exactly a ok place to live. If you’re looking for someplace nice enough to lay your head, a hub for going out and exploring Long Beach, then this place is fine. The amenities, cleanliness, and apartment offerings are average to below average depending on the day but never consistently clean and kept up. The lobby/office always looked squeaky clean, but the trash rooms, trash cans, parking garage and stairway to parking garage are always some kind of gross. I’d recommend it for a person/couple/roommates on the go, I wouldn’t recommend it for families or long term living, or anyone concerned with trash piling up.
We’ve been here for almost a month and already feel at home! The management and maintenance staff are great, and the amenities are so nice. A few fixes were needed upon move in, but the maintenance crew took care of it. Parking was also a little bit of a hassle (moved to a few different spots), but Morgann and Letti helped us figure it out with smiles on their faces. We’re looking forward to the rest of our time at Volta!

This is great feedback - how can we improve the overall star rating?
I already provided you an updated comment on google and yelp that was positive. Then again, my experience is different from many. Building A has always been a better place to live than Building B. I almost never go over there.

This place is worse than a college dorm. I have so much problems living here. I’ve been here for over two years and I only renewed my lease because I was out of town and couldn’t find a new apartment in time management sucks. The apartment itself is disguised as luxury, but it is not, they do not care about your problems. They are money hungry and again they suck as a management company take it from me do not live here. I even recommended two people to live here when I got here and they moved out within 3 to 4 months.

We have successfully improved many areas of the community over the past several months, and are still working towards making this a community all it can be. We would really like to speak with you personally, so we can learn more about your concerns, thus allowing us the opportunity to help improve your experience. Please call our office at your earliest convenience.
Wife and I have had our storage locker broken into. Garage gate has been broken for over a month. Homeless broke into the building yesterday and management does nothing. Any issue is on a weeks delay when it should be solved immediately. At a minimum guards should be 24/7 for any open access point inside.
Property Manager at Volta on Pine, Responded To This Review
We sincerely apologize that you have not enjoyed your time living within the community. We have taken action to help create more security by implementing welded plates on the storage units. This has proved to be effective in addressing this issue for many of our residents. We are aware of the condition of the gate, and have sent notices out to all our residents letting them know that the delay in fixing it, is due to us having to wait for a new part to come in. We have already ordered it, and plan to fix the gate as soon as the part is received. Additionally, to help improve security ongoing, we have stationed a standby guard by the damaged gate to prevent unauthorized access. We appreciate you taking pride in the community and wanting it to keep it secure, and can assure you we are doing our part as well. Thank you for your feedback.
Despite its luxury facade, Volta on Pine falls woefully short of expectations. Residents like myself are plagued by safety concerns and frustrated by the management's ineptitude and apathy. Here's why you should think twice before signing a lease: Rampant Crime and Empty Promises: A string of car break-ins culminated in my Mercedes being vandalized - the THIRD such incident in just two months! Management's response? Pathetic "options" and hollow promises, offering zero concrete action to address the growing security crisis. We deserve proactive solutions, not lip service. Increased patrols, improved lighting, and open communication are the least we can expect. Until then, Volta on Pine feels more like a dangerous gamble than a comfortable home. Package Theft and Storage Woes: My package mysteriously vanished from the secure package room. Management, informed of the issue, refused to check CCTV or offer any explanation. The basement storage room's lock was broken, resulting in the loss of several of my belongings. Pests, Overflowing Trash, and a Balkonied Nightmare: Flies and biscuit beetles have taken over my balcony, thanks to the overflowing weekend trash bins, making the space unusable. Management, however, remains obsessed with trivialities. When I requested an extra parking spot for just one night, they threatened to tow my car despite plenty of empty spaces available. Clearly, their priorities are skewed. In Conclusion: Volta on Pine doesn't deserve its luxury label. It's unsafe, poorly maintained, and managed by an incompetent team who couldn't care less about residents' well-being. Potential renters, do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere. You deserve a home that prioritizes your safety, security, and basic comfort.
Property Manager at Volta on Pine, Responded To This Review
We were very sorry to learn your car was broken into, and truly do not wish for anyone to go through such an unfortunate experience. It is very important that if any sees or experiences any suspicious activity they report it to the local authorities immediately, so it can be properly addressed. Our team has taken action by extending our courtesy patrol hours, and we have also added security to the doors to the storage. We are aware the gate is not working, but as soon as we discovered this, we put in an order in for the new parts. As soon as those parts come in the gate will be fixed promptly. If you have additional concerns, please come speak with a member of our team. We will always do what we can to ensure the community is safe and comfortable for all.
Hahaha this place is the worst! I lived here 1.5years and I hated it 1. Staff do not answer emails and phone call at all. They do not even call you back even though you left a voicemail. I was the one who needs to go down to office and talk about my issue. It does not mean they helped me right away lol I had to go down to office every time. Why did you guys asked us to left voice mail if you guys are not going to call me back? (Sometimes staffs are not even in the office ??) 2. Staff do not care about residents. Once you move in, you are done. No responses. How rude. 3. The noise of the room in insane. You can hear all the foot steps above you. I emailed the staff several times, but never got responses lol 4. One of the elevator always break down constantly. People who read my review, please go to other apartments. The worst things about this apartment is staff do not know how responses to residents.

Hello, we are so sorry to hear that you have not received the customer service that everyone deserves here at our community. We want all of our residents to feel comfortable and at home, while living on the property, both at home and in the office. Please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we can address your issues and rectify this in any way we can.
I strongly suggest reading the reviews before moving in, believe me when I say you can hear every single step your upstairs neighbor is taking. And it’s a painful experience

We are so sorry to learn you have not enjoyed your time with us. If there is something we can do to help you feel more comfortable in your home please let us know!
Do not move here. I have been complaining over the same thing for months and no one has done anything. I was just told by the front desk staff Jessica that there is nothing that they can do. Basically just deal with it. Save yourself time and stress. Don’t move here
