Believed to be the basis for Mayberry, the fictional town in The Andy Griffith Show, Mount Airy is an attractive town set at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The town center is full of older buildings that now house quirky shops and restaurants that keep residents and tourists alike entertained.
