Southwest Topeka is a neighborhood situated along Interstate 470 about five miles west of the city’s center. Southwest Topeka is filled with premier shopping and residential areas. The West Ridge Mall and more shopping plazas attract people from all around the city. The residential parts of the neighborhood are situated in the center and western part of the neighborhood. Residents will find several choices of affordable apartments and a few single-family homes for rent in the area. A few parks and trails dot the city too, but larger parks like the Big Shunga Park can be found right outside of town. Southwest Topeka is also convenient to the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center in Gage Park, as well as the parks and trails along the Kansas River.

I've lived here since March of 2022. I've had 2 maintenance requests in that time and both were answered and resolved in LESS than 24 hours. I really enjoying living here. I work a lot so I'm not home a ton, but when I am I'm comfortable and feel safe. It's an awesome community!

On behalf of Villa West, we just had to take a moment to thank you for sharing such an awesome review of our community! We’re humbled by your loyalty, and want you to know that we count it as a privilege to have you as a member of our community, each and every day.
I was a tenant at Villa West in a two-bedroom apartment for two years. My roommate and I had no complaints about our time there until we moved out. Maintenance requests were addressed quickly, the apartment met our needs, and the surrounding neighborhood felt safe. We were given a physical copy of a cleaning list before we vacated, and were told Villa West could take care of carpet cleaning for a $125 reduction from our deposit, to which we agreed. When we vacated, we had deep cleaned the apartment(following the list's expectations), did not leave behind any furniture or trash, and did not have kids or pets during our stay that would have left stains or additional wear and tear. Yet we were only given $85 out of the $400 deposit we paid. When we asked management about the discrepancy, they were delayed in responding, could not provide us with an itemized list of what was supposedly cleaned in the apartment, and attributed the carpet cleaning overcharge to "just charging what the vendor charged". The cleaning list we were provided was not the same list as the one provided as part of our lease, and management could not explain why two different documents were provided. Management refused to reimburse us any more despite us pointing out the confusion and providing a copy of the form we were physically given. So while this complex is fine, go in knowing that you likely won't receive much of our deposit back.

Jamie and tarts are the best managers I've ever had.
This is the perfect place to live, you are on Wanamaker and you are close to everything. I have lived here for 12 years and I will never move. Friendly neighbors and the staff has been there for years, they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Jodi and Tara go above and beyond to make sure that it is peaceful and crime free. This is my home to my family and it will be for years. It is everything you could want in a apartment complex. Minutes from restaurants, night life, and all the shopping you could ever need. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful place to live and to share neighborhood fun. Ages vary from older adults to young families such as mine. If you choose this complex look around you will probably meet some life time friends. Pet friendly and lots of outside fun.
This is really good place to live with friendly neighbors.Unlike other apartment it has a play area for kids. It is very neatly maintained.Mall and shopping centers are nearby which is added advantage.Leasing office staff are very friendly.
