Cradled by I-240 and I-40, East Asheville sits just east of the Asheville Mall and contains the Asheville Municipal Golf Course, the WNC Nature Center, and the Folk Art Center. The Swannanoa River meanders through the neighborhood and features several parks, including Asheville Recreation Park, which is home to the nature center, picnic areas, basketball courts, and a swimming pool. Azalea Park offers a large lake with a fishing pier, benches, and a dog park.
East Asheville is a busy neighborhood with plenty of shops, restaurants, and other businesses, especially along Tunnel Road. Additional shopping plazas are located along Fairview Road and River Ridge Drive. Off Bleachery Boulevard, you'll find more shops, including Kohl's, Walmart, and Cold Stone Creamery. The star of the neighborhood, the Asheville Golf Course, is one of Western North Carolina's oldest golf courses and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Good location, fine leasing staff, apartments look good from outside, but from inside apartments are poorly maintained, based on what i see in my apartment. Old, partially working appliances. Move-in time the apartment was not properly clean..still trying to get the issues resolved.

Great place to live! General community staff and maintenance staff are all very courteous and kind. The maintenance team is quick to respond and the community is very clean. They had a tremendously positive response to the hurricane, which was a cherry on top to an already positive experience I had living here previously.

Came here to help after Hurricane Helene. I hate the cold & I can’t wait to move back to Florida. HOWEVER I will say I’ve met some great people while I’ve been up here. Great neighbors and great coffee in the clubhouse. Jen & Megan in office have also been great and Jeff the maintenance head might be the most helpful person ever. Just wish the weather didn’t suck so bad or I’d move here full time.

Living at Verde Vista is wonderful - the apartment provides a lot of natural light and the fixtures and appliances are all new when I moved in. The amenities are well kept and maintained and the staff are respondent to any requests or concerns. Maintenance is also on top of responding to requests in a timely manner. I enjoy living here.

The leasign staff and management are very helpful in the application process and walks you through it. Everything was simple and even though I had a lot of questions everyone was kind and answered them. Overall a great apartment complex. Rent is getting pretty high and becoming unaffordable. The area is a smoke free facility which I love but sometimes the stair areas will smell like weed. But overall very clean and quiet.

We’ve had a wonderful experience living at Verde Vista. The amenities (such as the pool, fire-pit, fitness center, etc.) have been so nice. My roommates and I have also loved having community events such as a sip and paint and Christmas party have been such a fun way to connect with our neighbors! The staff in the clubhouse are also so kind and helpful (shoutout to Jen and Jacob)!

I have just moved in here and cannot rave enough about it. The property, for starters, is beautiful and very well maintained. Jacob in the leasing office was so helpful during my move-in process. The amenities are fantastic and my apartment is gorgeous. I highly recommend living here!

My experience here at Verde has been remarkable. My husband and I had a delay with some documents which prevented us from getting our NC license plates for months. We were also given extra time to get these documents together, which prevented our vehicles from being towed from the property. Now everything is sorted out and we’re able to drive again. We're so grateful to the management team for their support in this matter.

We left a drafty historic house with multiple issues for this updated and up-to-code apartment, and we like it. The office staff is always polite and approachable. The gym is really nice, and we love that the pool isn't locked up for winter. We can enjoy the sun on unseasonably warm days. We enjoy wine by the fire pit and the planned social meet-ups in the clubhouse. Good management and efficient maintenance.

We moved into Verde Vista with the intention of staying only a year to find a house to buy in Asheville. After just two months, we decided to stay permanently. Our three bedroom apartment has all the room we need. The view is amazing. The gym is brand new with all the equipment you would ever need. The salt water pool is perfect with lots of lounge chairs to sit in. We have a pool table, ping-pong table, and two grills. The fire pit is fun to sit around and enjoy a drink with friends. The regular socials make it easy to meet other folks in the apartments. But, best of all, is the wonderful office staff and maintenance workers. They’re here to provide any help you may need.

I live here and for me these are the pros and cons: The landscaping is very attractive & maintained nicely. The parking area is large with plenty of spaces. We have found it to be quiet at night except for the annoying wind chimes that some people keep on their balcony. You will hear them summer and winter. The stairways are filthy and the hallways are simply dirty. Both need to be washed down more frequently.

There is a lot of noise in the place. If you love taking afternoon naps, forget it. Sometimes, sleeping at night is also impossible and I will tell you why. Several food trucks come on the property and leave their engines running for hours. Closing the window doesn't help keep the noise out. Additionally, the staff leave the music playing the entire day. If you want peace of mind, I wouldn't recommend living here.

Great apartment and surroundings but…. If you’re someone who works remote or have kids who are noise sensitive, this place isn’t for you. Apart from the highway noise, there’s literally mowing and leaf blowing every single day! I can’t take a single nap without hearing these things go off during the day. Closing all windows can’t even keep the noise out. I know it’s for the beautification of the place but it’s too much. Can’t even have a single meeting without noises in the background. Not sure how they’d fix this but this is a huge turn off for me especially even though I’m all the way up on a fourth floor.

Verde Vista is a nice place to live, until you have to interact with the office staff. The office staff rubs me the wrong way. They are not helpful or professional. Verde Vista has gone through 4 management companies since July 2022. Just something to note, Verde Vista is next to supportive housing for the homeless.

I'm a current resident and I'm telling you straight up you'll be sorry if you move here. Safety issues are a big concern, their security gates don't work, their garbage pick up is inconsistent, buildings were built with cheap materials and staff is terrible.

I’ve only lived here a few months and while I don’t like waiting on the renovations to finish I can tell you I’ve enjoyed everything else. The staff are down to earth and super funny. Every time I’ve put in a maintenance ticket Ed arrives immediately. Ed is the best employee they have and is definitely Verde Vistas Superstar!
Lived here for a year in 2019-2020. It was a really special place for a first apartment. The area was quiet and beautiful with quick access to main roads and shopping. In walking distance via sidewalk to restaurants, shopping and services. The management was always friendly (trust me, since I’ve left I’ve seen how bad management can be) and they always kept the property clean and presentable. The unit itself was small but appropriate for what I needed and the appliances worked and were relatively modern. There is a great pool and fitness center that I used a few times. Overall, this was a really great place to live and I’ll always remember my time in Asheville.

Since moving to Verde Vista I have been very happy. The staff - office & maintenance, have made the transition to my new home very easy. This feels like home. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for an apartment in this area.
The Rental Team and maintenance team are very professional, friendly and supportive in every way possible. My wife and I love living here and have just renewed our lease for the 2nd year. The grounds are kept immaculate and the pool and grill area are such a plus. My only recommendation is the installation of a playground for the kids. Thanks for making our stay here at Vere Vista a real joy!!!
