VERDE Apartments

I tried to contact this complex for an entire week and have spoken to virtually no one. I received 1 initial email back after I inquired about availability, but after 2 emails, 3 phone calls and a phone message, nothing. Every other place I've contacted in the area got back to me within a day, but these people seem to be uninterested in doing business. It doesn't matter how "luxurious" the living is if no one will answer the phone.

Verde is the best Central PA apartment complex period. The managers and owners went above and beyond to help our family secure a lease for our 95 year old grandmother who needed a new space. The central common area is amazing for grilling food, playing cornhole and other games and the inside common area is phenomenal for gathering and entertaining. Finally its proximity to great eating and downtown Hummelstown makes it ideal. Can't say enough about this complex!

Lots of empty promises. They advertise a business center, fitness center, common lounge and so forth. It has been over 9 months (!!!!!) since the promised opening dates. However, STILL NOTHING!!! Even if it gets done in hopefully next few months, that's pretty much an entire 1 year lease of really high rent for a luxury apartment with NO amenities. Definite false advertisement. How can they not care for over a year? It's called hiring more people or working more efficiently overnight if there are these many tenants that are really upset about the issue. Very unprofessional. All the management says is that they are aware that people are upset about it. If they had stated honestly beforehand that it would take this long, many tenants would not have moved in as there are other luxury apartments already with amenities built in.

To be fair, these apartments are new, clean, and nice. The biggest perk is it's location which is very close to the medical campuses which is very convenient to medical students, residents, and others. However.. there were a lot of empty promises when we signed up to move in. We were the first to move in and lived there for 3 years, consistently paying rent and never causing any problems. First, they called 3 days before our move in date to let us know the apartment was not going to be ready for 2 more weeks. They advertised a nest thermostat system and future gym which never happened. Considering the "luxury" title, it's disappointing that there is no concierge service (boxes and deliveries are left out in the public entrance). There were incidents where tenants cars were wrongfully towed and the owners of the complex did nothing to compensate those affected. The final straw was when we requested a one month extension at the end of our lease term.. and the ownership simply said no because they feared it would cost them the opportunity to attract potential tenants one month later. The ENTIRE communication happened through Elaine as the go-between. She is the office manager and is very friendly and nice, but practically useless because she would not or could not provide any direct communication with ownership. It was extremely disrespectful and futile. Altogether, great location, overpriced for the level of "luxury", and some of the worst management I've ever dealt with.

Horrible management from the get go and absolutely no effort for management or owners to listen to or even speak to their customers. In the three years living here I had to deal with so many inappropriate issues including: getting called the day before my move in date stating the apartment was not available and had no accurate move in date ; car getting towed because they forgot to include it on the list of tenets’ cars and did not offer to pay back the cost; emergency service after hours didn’t answer for 4 hours and I had to call the police when I got locked out of my apartment; and finally, did not accommodate the request for month to month rent when more than 3 months advance notice was given. There are so many other issues that I would disclose had I the character space. I have requested to speak to the owners at least a dozen times to get answers and never have we been able to be put in touch with any of them. This is ludicrous as I have never seen any kind of business establishment where the paying customer does not have he chance to speak to a supervisor. Please do not be fooled by the fancy exterior of these new buildings- the fundamental core of its business management is toxic and you would be better off living anywhere else. Horrible experience.

This is a new apartment complex so everything isn't completely finished (no amenities -coming soon) but the location is nice ,within walking distance to many things! The office staff is great and very friendly. Apartments themselves are nice, my only concern is parking in the future as more buildings are finished. Dedicated parking spaces would be a nice idea.
