Mice, broken appliances and stolen car.

All first floor neighbors on Deerfoot have mice. My car was stolen, 3/19/25 from the street in-front of my apartment. No street lights working, which we pay $34 a month extra for. Dishwasher only works on hour wash, nice when you have mice on your countertops! Cheap in every way. New manager informed me she spent $27k on smoke alarms. Ummm how about you get priorities reorganized. Other neighbor was told she could use the washer in the apartment across the street while she waits for a part for hers. That was last fall! The hidden fees are $350.34. Covers wqter$25, sewer $40, amenity fee of $105 and internet $130!! The worst ever to live!

Veranda was a miserable experience for us

Garbage would sit out all over the place for days. Maintenance and the office ignore your requests to fix things; our kitchen sink barely worked and I only used my shower three times. The noise was absolutely unbelievable here. The constant booming from our upstairs neighbors made our lives hell, and kids were always screaming next door and playing in the halls. This experience at Veranda has stained a year of our lives.

RUN!

Do Not rent here you will regret it. The management staff is a joke and maintenance is definitely lacking. My Air conditioning unit was out for 10 days in June it was horrible.

USED to be nice before Conner Group took over

The most poorly managed place I have ever had the displeasure of working with. If you don't believe me, look for all the private facebook pages of over 1200 other tenants that have had grievances, such as No AC for weeks, no heat for weeks, no dryer for months, mice, no place to put your trash bc dumpsters were removed, flooding, no working stove/ovens, non functioning pool, no window screens, broken windows, no blinds, entering apartments illegally without prior notice and HORRIBLE communication with the Manager, Megan. You can get a much nicer place for the cost of living in this dump.

You will regret it

This is what you get for the so called “luxury” apartment living. Maintenance requests are ignored. Grounds keeping is nonexistent. Leasing office is unhelpful. The pool was closed half of the summer last year on orders from the Department of Public Health. Dark and unlit parking lots (safety issue). I wouldn’t recommend renting here unless you have no other choice.

New Management Company Does not make Resident Issues a Priority

Since the management company changed there has been a big decline in service. Reported a maintenance issue in August, they came out 3 times after many complaints and it is still not fixed. After calling, emailing and speaking to the Manager it is still not fixed and it is now October. We will not renew our lease or recommend.

55 day old maintenance request

Update: today is day 55 I’m not usually one to write a negative review but as of today, my initial maintenance request is 50 days old. I put in a request for stove light replacement 5/31/22. Shortly after, I submitted a second maintenance request for my tub due to it not draining and my freezer light also needed to be replaced. After 16 days, I reached out to follow up on these requests after not hearing back. Megan, the office manager, informed me the single-handed maintenance staff was backed up with AC units. I told her no worries but if someone could try to get to my tub situation, that would be great. It’s hot and clearly an AC unit trumps a stove light, but my tub is an equally pressing issue. Fast forward to 6/24 (approximately 2wks from my tub request). Still nothing. So I spent money out of my own pocket and fixed my tub myself, although I pay enough in rent to have these things taken care of.... Over the next few weeks, I called requesting an update on the other maintenance requests. Every time I called, I was told they would follow up with maintenance and get back to me. I'd end up having to call a second and third time to get an update only to be told they only have one maintenance staff for the entire property and they’re working on it and/or they took on “several backed-up maintenance requests” when purchasing the complex. I'm a reasonable person, I understand things happen but this is ridiculous. Fast forward to 7/7/22, my closet light is now out. I put in a fourth maintenance request. Over the next several days I called multiple times requesting an update. The responses were always the same. It is now 13 days later and this is still not fixed, along with the other active requests and the air filter I requested during one of the conversations. I cannot see anything when getting dressed in the mornings. I called 7/18 twice. No one answered. I then walked over to the office and spoke with Erica directly. She proceeds to tell me, again, maintenance is backed up and there is only one maintenance staff for the entire property. At this point, I’m frustrated and rightfully so, so I asked for a light bulb and I’ll just change it myself. I’m told she’ll look into this and get back to me. The following day, I received an email from Megan, property manager. She says, the lightbulbs are on backorder. Needless to say, I am disappointment and incredibly frustrated.

Limited cable options, unreliable cable & internet services

The worst part of living at Veranda is all buildings are hard-wired for AT&T. While working from home, my Internet service can be interrupted without notice. The biggest issue I’ve experienced is the unstable cable streaming service. In 4 years, AT&T is unable to troubleshoot or correct my streaming issues, so they’re sending my 5th cable box and my 3rd router. Unfortunately neither Spectrum or The Dish Network can be used in these buildings. I pay $250/month for cable + Internet and this is the worst service I’ve ever encountered. I used to have AT&T cell service, but had reception issues in the neighborhood & switched to Verizon. If you don’t mind substandard Internet or cable service from AT&T, Veranda is for you!

Quality of the apartment are not the best. You can hear everything from your neighbors. For such a rent you will expect better finishing. I can her neighbor alarm every day and Im sure they can hear my kids.

Love the apartment layout. Struggled to sleep at night due to I-71 traffic. Had some rude neighbors that chronically complained, even when the situation did not exist. Another neighbor with the same layout paid over $400 less a month than me. For these reasons I did not renew my lease. The maintenance team was amazing though.

Dishonest Staff

Stay away! Greystar and local staff are dishonest. Lived here for over two years. My husband and I were repeatedly blamed for our neighbors’ failure to clean up after their pets. Right before we moved out, office staff swindled me out of $30 by saying I had violated the renter’s insurance requirement. I’d renewed my policy two months earlier, but staff never asked for updated proof (as is their duty under the lease if they wanted proof; trust me, I’m a lawyer). Instead, two months after I renewed, I received a notice of default and a letter telling me that Greystar obtained insurance on my behalf at a rate of $15 per month. Guess what?! Greystar has an affiliated company that sells renter’s insurance. And (shocker!) that’s who they bought it from. Staff refused to work with me on the issue or acknowledge that they had any duty to request proof. They also had no excuse for allowing my “default” to persist for two months before notifying me that I had defaulted. That was the shadiest part. If I’d been charged for one month and notified, I would’ve paid the $15 and never written this review. But letting it go for two months so that they could collect twice as much money is unacceptable. Big landlords like Greystar can get away with this because $30 isn’t worth me suing them. I’ll pay it and move on. And that’s what they count on. If they do this to enough of their thousands of tenants, they can make a nice profit. I highly encourage you to look elsewhere for rental housing.
