The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Vela on Ox
Today, I received the contract for the apartment. I am very happy. Jessica helped me handle everything very quickly. A wonderful building, perfect and excellent service. I am very pleased. Thank you, Jessica, for your work. A huge thank you. Highly recommend to everyone this building. Arkadiy B.
I am very much satisfied of living in this building. There are amazing support team that help me whenever I need. Jessica P is one of the staff members that support me as fast as possible. I never had such a care and support in my life from a community building. Thank you very much to team and specially Jessica P.
My tenure at Vela on Ox has been characterized by disappointment and frustration, largely due to the glaring deficiencies in management and maintenance practices. As a resident who has experienced firsthand the repercussions of such negligence, I feel compelled to share my candid feedback to inform others considering this property. The most pressing issue plaguing this establishment is the chronic malfunctioning of the elevators. It is utterly baffling how all the elevators have remained out of service for extended periods, inconveniencing residents and compromising accessibility. Despite repeated complaints, the management has failed to address this fundamental issue, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the well-being of tenants. Moreover, the overall upkeep of the property leaves much to be desired. Common areas are frequently neglected, and essential maintenance tasks are routinely overlooked. It is evident that the management's lack of attention extends beyond elevator repairs, contributing to a deteriorating living environment for residents. In light of these persistent shortcomings, I cannot in good conscience recommend Vela on Ox to prospective tenants. The substandard management and maintenance practices undermine the quality of life within the community, making it an unsuitable choice for those seeking a comfortable and reliable living environment.
We moved here because it was a beautiful property managed by people who PHYSICALLY WORKED OUT OF THE LEASING OFFICE. Essex purchased the building, and they closed the leasing office. Now, every leasing agent/manager is removed. If you need help, lose a package, or spot a stray dog running through the fifth-floor hallways (yes, this actually happened), there is nowhere to FIX IT. Additionally, the pipes in our apartment have broken three times. We were holding the phone up to the water as we swept it out of our apartment so they could HEAR IT. All vending machines have been removed. All food truck services have stopped. All resident events are done. The garage flooded, nearly totaling my car, and I only found out because of another resident's video. Maintenances is an HOUR away. If you try to call for emergency maintenance using the app, the number is disconnected. This community is, I suppose, supposed to run itself... which makes it a haven for drug dealers and package thieves. Do not move here if you want to keep your sanity and avoid hearing fire alarms at all hours of the day. Our dog is stressed out because of the constant alarms. Although it's advertised as a non-smoking property, there is NO ONE here to enforce this rule. Therefore, people smoke all the time, and there are cigarette butts everywhere--even the dog run. The dog run is covered in poop, and there is no accountability for dog owners because there are no cameras and there is NO LEASING STAFF on the property. We are disgusted and exhausted.
There are no cameras on the property which makes it very unsafe and people can do whatever they want without getting fined or evicted. Theres dog pee and poop everywhere, fire alarm goes off ALL THE TIME, its crazy.
This complex is so bad! You can’t even imagine! Not a luxury first of all! Fire alarms are going on randomly any time of the day very loud in bedroom! Could be Saturday or Sunday 5am! Or any other day at 2 am! They don’t have cameras anywhere In hallways and cannot fix it! Other issues is that packages are getting stolen from the front door of apartments! NO CAMERAS ANYWHERE! Read more reviews about this building and go find another really luxury building! Management is very bad that don’t care about community! My friends car got stolen from the parking lot! Parking lot gates most of the time is broken and open!
I'm a resident at Vela On Ox for 3 years, and unfortunately, the property management has been changed to Essex recently. Very bad experience so far: Office is locked, and no one is responsive during office hours. They don't understand that it's their responsibility to keep office open during office hours and be responsive and helpful to residents. Instead, they just say that how it is (if you can find one person to talk to by accident). It used to be a nice place to live, but not anymore. There used to be a property manager to help in case office staff were not helpful, but not anymore. I do not recommend it to anyone to move in here. They charge you high rent without providing the service they have to.
