I first moved into this complex when it was still called The Summit and before it was taken over by its current management (Greystar). My unit hasn't been upgraded because I'm still living in it, but I have observed the upgrades being performed on all the units in my building once they're empty. Because my unit is older I have had some maintenance issues throughout the years (but honestly nothing compared to the problems much newer apartment complexes in the Clemson/Central area have had). The Whitley has had the most prompt, professional, and nice maintenance team in all my experience with renting. They've nearly always come out within 24 hours of putting in the request (and my roommate and I have regularly had them arrive just a few hours after). The staff at the leasing office have always been friendly and courteous when I see them. Most importantly they have always worked to quickly solve any issues I had and have even gone above and beyond in helping me out with problem that was not even their fault and completely out of their control. The biggest reason I've kept renewing my lease each year is because I've rented from plenty of other companies in the local Clemson area and The Whitley has been the most pleasant and stress-free. I've had enough experience with other places where getting maintenance or dealing with the office is like pulling teeth (and sometimes take months to resolve). Here I'm confident that my maintenance requests will be resolved quickly, the leasing staff has always been able to answer my questions and quickly resolve any issues, and everyone on the leasing and maintenance teams are just pleasant and friendly. About the complex itself: I live at the bottom of the hill and it's quiet, and calm. The make-up is of a lot of families, grad students, professional/working adults, married/long-term couples, etc. While there are also undergraduate students, I wouldn't classify it as a student apartment complex.

Very nice community. Away from traffic with plenty of recreational activities. Management does a decent job in navigating you through the portal and with answering your questions. Rent is very reasonable when living with roommates.

I have been extremely satisfied with my leasing experience at the Whitley. The apartments are spacious with up-to-date kitchens, rent is affordable and competitive for three roommates, and the staff is incredibly accommodating and kind. We love it here so far!

I love living at The Whitley. When I moved in two years ago, they were in the process of changing hands. The new staff are so friendly and kind, I know I can turn to them for any question. This is an older complex in rural South Carolina so... obviously that comes with some downfalls. But, maintenance is super responsive, professional, and very competent. Best maintenance team I’ve ever encountered. They go above and beyond to care for the units and we plan to stay here until we leave the area just because of their dedication and support.
