Roaches

My apartment had roaches on move in, which they couldn't possibly have been unaware of given they affected multiple units. It took me six painful months of the problem getting worse for me to force them to break my lease. They were using band aid solutions. The apartments are horribly maintained even apart from the roaches. Much happier in my current apartment where things are actually professional. I would never rent from them again for any cost.

Roaches!!

Infested with roaches, maintenance does not fix anything. Rent and price is constantly fluctuating and was disgusting when we moved in. Nicotine dripping down the walls, carpet filled with animal hair, appliances no longer work due to the roach infestation also we pay for pest control which to no surprise does not help us, this place is making my animals sick!!! Do not live here, move anywhere else. DO NOT LIVE HERE!

Don't live here

I just moved out from the View. They changed move-in time as shown in contract and the rent is changing Every Day! We had no choice at that time. The townhouse is sooooo bad and gross everywhere at the day we move in. No cleaning at all! Bathrooms and kitchen were gross and someone left trash and smoke ash over kitchen!! We have to stay in hotel at that night. We asked for maintenance after filling out that check list but no one showed up in three months we lived over there. I called several times. They always said they would do it soon but never happened. And they did not mentioned they will charge washer/dryer fee for townhouse if you don't bring your own. Never met such greasy place before. After moving out, they charge more money even wrote wrong rent which is different from our contract then they can charge more money from us!! Soooooooo greasy!! Never live here if you have any choices!!

Too many issues…

My daughter and I lived there for 6 months just because it was the only place in the area that allowed larger dogs. Shortly after moving in, there was a shower leak that came down into the living area on the main floor. When maintenance came, they cut a hole in the master bedroom wall that they patched with particle board that was still they til the day we moved out. I had other maintenance related issues, mold in the basement, a leak in the utility sink in the basement and a kitchen sink leak that were never addressed. Maintenance also tried coming in my townhouse when I wasn’t home, which I asked them not to. I know this because my 18 year old daughter was home, but he didn’t come all the way in probably from my dogs barking. In the summer we had to sleep in the living room, as it was too hot to sleep upstairs, even with the air running. I am now having an issue getting any part of my security deposit back even after numerous calls to the office. Good luck if you decide to move in…

Awesome Apartment

I moved in over the summer and I love living here at The View! Everyone in the office is very helpful and knowledgeable - the offered great resources for me since I moved from out of town. Also, the maintenance guys are very prompt and efficient. I am looking forward to the next resident events as they are always so much fun and have the best food.

NOTHING gets fixed

My family transferred from the view apartments to townhomes at the end of April. When we moved in, we found several damages from the previous owners that looked like maintenance had only "patched up". Not going to go into depth about everything that is wrong with my townhome, however i would like to address my biggest issue in my home. The entire master bathroom. When we moved in, you could step on the floor, in front the tub, and the floor would sink in due to water damage. (scary) It was then that I noticed the wall tile by the tub was no longer attached. In addition to the water damage, my tub was stained & all stratched up leaving the paint peeled off. We informed management right way. Three weeks later maintenance finally came to fix the bathroom. They took off all the floor tile, unattached wall tile, toilet and a peice of wood in front of the tub. They patched it up with a wooden board (that isnt even parallel to the floor) and threw new tile on the floor. Didn't put my toilet back up until 2 days later and they forgot to put the ring around it so now my toilet wobbles. Informed management. Nothing has been done about it yet. There is also now a huge hole in my bathroom from the old tile that they took out and never fixed. The hole exposes the damaged and rusted wood... making it a home for spiders and allowing more water to get in. Noting was ever done about the peeling walls. It is now August and damages that should have been fixed before we moved in (Apr 29) still aren't fixed.

Great place to be!!

Staff is very friendly and the grounds are always kept up quite nicely. Maintenance is always couryeous and quick to respond. The new upgraded units are fantastic!! It's also super convenient to be located right near all the shopping and food places.

Moving in

The office people is really nice, looks great out here but once my family moved in, things aren't working out, they left us a scrapped up bathtub (looks like previous owners had pets and the pets scratched the area), townhouse didn't smell the greatest. We were told the carpet just got clean on the day we moved in, I am questioning that because we can't even sit down on the floor because it's flooded with animal hair.

The Villages of Portage

Guaranteed the best apartment complex in town. New management took over and still waiting to see what changes they make. Staff however is wonderful, very friendly and always smiling and there to help you. Maintenance is the best compared to other complexes I lived in previously. Always on top of snow shoveling. The grounds are always kept up and looking great. I look forward to seeing the updates made in the future. This place is worth the money, I promise you.

Village Green apartments

I live on the third floor have complained several times about the cigarette smoke from the lady below me, was told there Is nothing that can be done, I have to leave my bedroom window open all the time winter summer everyday, my clothes stink like smoke along with my belongings. I have bought oil diffuser plug ins its really bad when the smoke smell wakes you up at 3:00 am. its really bad when your not even a smoker and your employer notices it. needles to say my lease is up and looking for another place to live.

Unfortunately we do not have any “Smoke Free” buildings here at The Villages of Portage and sometimes in multi family living issues like this do arise, however; there are options that I would be more than happy to speak with you about if you would like to take a few minutes to stop in the office. Again, I want to thank you for voicing your concerns, even negative feedback is helpful to us for training and planning purposes.
