I’ve had a generally good experience living at The Tomscot. The location is convenient. The building offers great amenities. Management has been consistently responsive and helpful whenever an issue comes up, which really sets this place apart. There are a few areas that could use improvement. Dog waste management could be better enforced, and adding more greenery or plants would make the space feel more welcoming and relaxing. It would also be nice to see more investment in outdoor common areas or green spaces. Rent is definitely on the higher end, which may make it less accessible for individuals or families looking for long-term housing. Because of the price, many units are shared by college students, which can sometimes lead to noise and messiness in shared spaces. Overall, it’s a solid place to live—especially if location and amenities are your top priorities. With a few small improvements, it could easily be one of the best apartment communities in the area.

I love it here! The staff has been so good to me since I moved in. The maintenance response has been super quick for me everytime I need something. And this location is A1!! Right in the center of everything for me and super close to any and all types of entertainment I enjoy!

Decent place to reside though its certainly not without its flaws, and certainly is a bit overpriced in comparison to some of the nearby communities that are significanty nicer & of better quality. Additionaly, it drives me nuts that there is no nice gym for the community to use, nor is there a hot tub available, yet they felt the need to include a kitty pool next to the big pool. Not really sure what Greystars thought process was during the planning phase prior to building out the property.
So far so good! ive been here for about 3 weeks and i have no complaints.. parking can be tricky for visitors but its manageable The elevators are a little bit slow

I’ve had a great experience living at this apartment complex. The property is well-maintained with modern amenities, and its convenient location makes daily errands and commuting a breeze. Since the new management took over, community rules are consistently enforced, creating a more pleasant and respectful living environment. My only wish is that they offered more rent incentives, but overall, it’s a fantastic place to call home.

I had a wonderful experience living at The Tom Scot, and I can't say enough good things about Larita. Her kindness and flexibility went above and beyond to make sure I loved where I lived. Kim, Connie, and Cody were also fantastic—always providing top-notch service and making life there so enjoyable. The amenities are incredible, including a golf simulator, two pools, and a state-of-the-art gym, all within close proximity to Old Town Scottsdale's restaurants and nightlife. I'll definitely miss this place and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great living experience!

Living here has been good so far. The people are so nice and the amenities are great. I love that they have smart home features and I can control it from my phone. The complex hosts various activities like pool parties and breakfasts. They are also pet friendly.

Let me start by saying that I have lived at the tomscot for almost 5 years. I’ve seen changes in management. I’ve seen changes in the culture throughout the community. However, one thing has always remain consistent. There is always dog waste throughout the entire property and our amenities are always broken. I have brought the waste issue up to Management multiple times and it seems that it is left to maintenance to rectify the issue. Residents here are lazy. Literally last night I walked out of the gym and there’s dog poop scattered throughout the entire walkway right in front of my unit as if somebody just push it off their balcony. The dog park has a pungent smell that is overwhelming. The size of the dog park, the pool, and gym are all ridiculously too small. The fact that rent prices are increasing and the community itself is depreciating doesn’t make sense. I’ll finally be making my way out of the TomScot when my lease is up in June.

I don’t think it deserves even one star! There is so many issues! Lack of security, broken doors/elevators, dog pee in the halls, rude managers, packages lost, there is no concierge, forced to use Fetch for packages! Just awful living experience!

The Tomscot is good, for the most part. Convenience is great and the square footage is quite good. Their propensity to let problems fester are the largest issue. Trash, packages, broken doors, etc.

I love being wasp king distance to bars and restaurants. The gym, golf simulator and pool are great amenities. Unfortunately since Covid the level of service has dropped significantly. Some of that is okay as staffing is hard right now everywhere, but when issues are consistent it’s hard to forgive. I’ve never had issues with load parties or bad neighbors. Build quality to me is ehhh. It looks nice but fit and finish isn’t good. Noise from hallways leaks in significantly, road noise if in A building is also high due cheaper materials. Parking garage gates have been hit or miss last 2 years so garage isn’t always ‘secure’. Since resident parties restarted they been sloppy and not well managed. We use to have nice events that were staffed and themed. Now it’s random messy trays of food/drinks that run out in the first hour. Would be better to have less events with bigger budgets. Several office miscommunications in last year and a half, which I didn’t experience in the previous 2-3 years I’ve been here. Hopefully things tighten up as staff gets more settled. Positive have always had timely and excellent maintenance service! They are fantastic!

The TomScot looks good from the outside, but beware, once you’re locked into that lease you will be treated as if you are gum on the bottom of their shoe. Management makes no effort to help in the majority of situations, and the amenities they advertise so highly are very rarely in working condition. They prioritize community parties over resident happiness, I’m hopeful that my move out process is smooth but according to other people in the community and other reviews, I’m not holding much hope. Noise is horrible in the building, god forbid you end up on any of the lower floors because there is no insulation between the floor and ceiling, and your life will be interrupted constantly by the people above you stomping around at all hours of the day and night. I’m serious when I say this RUN, DONT WALK from the TomScot, and read reviews before you sign here or with any of the greystar properties for that matter.

First off, I have never written a review previous to this one. That is how upset I am at the staff and myself, honestly. The leasing office claims to have "misplaced" the initial signed move-in sheet signed by ALL four residents of our lease. Because of this, they went all-out in trying to charge for normal wear-in-tear usage after our move out. And I mean EVERYTHING. It's like we are paying for a remodel with these ludicrous charges. Sadly, because of this, I have no argument in refuting these charges and will be forced to most likely pay. I/we are what I consider great tenants. We left the apartment in good shape and in the shape we practically got it. Don't get me wrong, I am okay with paying the occasional fees for small drywall repairs, or whatnot. However, this is not the same and a nightmare. The fact that the TOMSCOT is basically saying we did NOT sign the initial move-in inspection sheet is infuriating and almost like they are laughing in our faces. When, in reality, we made an EXTENSIVE list of notes on the sheet, all signed, and returned (in person) the move-in sheet. If you move in here take pictures of everything: all documents, all damages prior to move-in, and take pictures of everything when you move out. Even take a picture of you handing the documents to the staff or you might be in the same situation I am in. On the contrary, if you're cool with your packages getting stolen, an unprofessional leasing staff, 2 + weeklong waits for maintenance, and more, then you may like it. P.S. if they try to discredit me in their response back, saying how they never received the signed sheet. It it further clarifies how they run their business and how they treat their residents. Save yourself the trouble and just don't lease here, truly.

The Tomscott is in a great location. The apartments are modern and spacious! There are many issues with the amenities and irresponsible tenants. The management is not very responsive. If you dont mind noice, smoke , trash in the hallways, dirty cold pool, and loud pool parties! It is the best place for you!

If you want to enjoy your living situation stay far away from tomscot. The property itself is fairly nice but the management has no idea what they are doing and will you make your life unnecessarily difficult at every opportunity.

A modern community with amazing amenities. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Maintenance normally comes within 3 days. The only concern I have is the cleanliness of the community (stains on pillows/furniture, gym seems dirty.)

There are lounge chairs in the pool area that are amplified with subwoofers. Even when the sound on the lounge chairs is being played at a moderate level, the sound is so strong from the amplifier that it penetrates my apartment and I hear constant thumping and bumping. It sounds like there is a concert outside my home on a daily basis, particularly on the weekends and at night when residents are in the hot tub. A majority of the time residents choose to play the music at a high level and have no respect or consideration for the surrounding neighbors. This has become a young party scene with an immature demographic. When I first moved in, it was an older professional demographic. The noise was rarely an issue as the neighbors would play music at a reasonable level. I have brought my concerns to management and I requested that the lounge chairs be disabled since residents are abusing them and constantly playing them at a loud level. Unfortunately there is no way to control the volume on the lounge chairs and residents feel the need to turn the music up at a high level. Management advised me that the owners of the property want the lounge chairs to remain because they want to encourage social gathers/parties. This is causing me to dislike my home all due to an unnecessary feature/amenity. I would not recommend living here if you enjoy a quiet space.

We fell in love with the Tomscot almost instantly while apartment searching. From beginning to end we were in contact with Caitlyn who remained so kind and helpful throughout the process. She was really the reason we were able to keep pushing through our long application journey. She worked with us until we were finally able to walk through the doors into our new apartment and we were floored. It was so beautiful, clean and spacious. We had to lay on the floor for a while to take it in! Every light has the ability to dim, the bathroom fans are crazy quiet, and the fans/air conditioning have such fantastic airflow. There are so many amenities inside and outside the apartment. The people here must be equally happy as well as they've all been super friendly and the common is always lively over the weekends. Even though some things are closed due to covid, we've still been left in awe. Thank you for letting us be part of this community!

I enjoy living here. Definitely has a unique vibe and some cool amenities. Friendly staff. Noise can an issue in the front building, not so much in the back building. The common parking areas can be a pain and even the street parking can be full on the weekends.

I love The TOMSCOT! While I was moving in, I met several residents who offered to assist me with moving in. One invited me to play golf at the golf simulator the complex has! The floor plans are perfect, the cleanliness of the complex is astounding, and I honestly can't say enough good things about the staff. They have been beyond incredible and accommodating, which made the move so much easier. I have lived in 5 different states in multiple apartment complexes. I can honestly say that I have never had such an amazing internet/cable package that comes with the apartment! Most times when setting up your internet/cable services, it feels like it can take over an hour. When I set up mine, it literally took less than 10 minutes. I set it up as I was driving and once I got off the phone, I drove to the COX Communications store. I walked in and met with a representative who, after looking me up, went in the back, grabbed the router and cable box, handed it to me and said, "you're all set." This took less than five minutes. In conclusion, I love this apartment complex.
Great place to live. Love the amenities and the LOCATION is perfect.
