Unsafe, Expensive, & Constant Stolen Packages and Fire Alarm That Tests

I’ve lived here for over a year and the price doesn’t justify the constant stolen packages, unsecured entrances, frequent fire alarm tests, and ringing noise when opening your window. There have also been some car break ins reported. The lack of safety and security cameras in the hallways and garage, in addition to getting your packages stolen from your front door at night (which I experienced this December 2024), is very disheartening. They don’t even have a completely locked mail room or mail lockers. The fob activated doors are very loose and often propped open with a rock. All the rest of the inconveniences are tolerable if it was safe: The main building with the piano/extra amenities is inaccessible for residents too. The gym tends to always have 1 broken treadmill and the amount of foot traffic in front of your unit can make it feel uneasy. Because it’s near a train station there are some suspicious people who pass by and some homeless people. The dog park area / entrance stinks all the time making walking through it nauseating as well. Not to mention the occasional neighbors blasting music and the dystopian view of staring at other units / cluttered balconies. The few positives are the amazing & kind maintenance / cleaning team and onboarding team (Marjorie, Alyssa, Maria, Victor, and Robert). They are all extremely understanding and make this place tolerable. The process of moving in was better because of them. They did show me the unit with a squeaky ceiling fan which they eventually fixed. The rent was a good deal before they raised it 10% prior to Pasadena’s law enforcement. The pool and hot tub are nice for the times you use it, the gym can be convenient but it’s small and can get crowded past 2 people. Also not many bugs It’s overall not extremely bad, but given next door apartments are only about $200 more a month and they have locked parcel lockers and more secure facilities, it’s just sad. I’d rather feel safe than pay for these extra amenities. I’m using an anonymous name for this review and trying to be fair, but it’s been several months of complaints between my neighbors and I for the stolen / broken into packages and they’ve barely taken some action that doesn’t quite fix the problem entirely. It’s very easy for people to tailgate inside the garage and in the “secure” entrances. Please fix this.

No Luxury - No lease Options - 5%-10% increase in one year

Have been living at The Stuarts for over 4 years. Not blaming any staff member but corporate. 5-10% increase in one year. No year round swimming pool, no access to conference center, no access to lobby, no access to lobby bathroom, no 24 hours security, no mail room in the lobby like before COVID. They took the COVID excuse to close everything. No longer over 12 month leases (but hey, the building next door offers that..so does most of the apartments). If you are ok to pay luxury prices, but no luxury, and take 5% -10% increase in a year with no option, this is your place! Otherwise, not worth your money. Oh you have to pay for parking, they do not even offer one parking space for your leased apartment.

SKIP THIS PLACE

So... Management who signed me on this lease still doesn't believe I'm a resident. When I forgot my keys inside and accidentally locked myself out... they demanded my ID but it was in my unit so that dragged on for a while. Also, I wish they'd show me the unit before I moved in because the person living next to me has a dog barking 24/7. I never signed up for this and management doesn't do anything. AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO LIVE HERE!

Moved in a couple months ago and The Stuart meets every of my expectations. Location is perfect! Close to a lot of supermarkets, stores, restaurants, and it's not too far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Pasadena, which, at times can be too crowded and too busy. It's also close to a to of great hiking spots if you're the outdoor active type.
