Property Ratings at The Sophia at Abacoa
The property has terrible mold issues that they refuse to deal with. The units are half way repaired when moving in, the paint is all over the floors, the cabinets, and switch plate covers, the flooring is cheap and scratches easily, appliances are old. My building wasnt even level as doors wouldnt stay open. I have never in my life met such a coward as the guy who manages this property. He will refuse to deal with an issue, never returns phone calls or emails, will not tell you who his boss is. They go through staff at the office quickly.

Our apartment at Sophia Abacoa is gorgeous. Staff left welcome gifts on the day of our arrival. We have had NO bugs/pests, no problems. Lovely lay-out, incredibly responsive maintenance team.

The staff at Sophia made our transition from California to Jupiter seemed almost seamless. They were professional, patient, and friendly. The Sophia is everything they promised and more. Clean, quiet, well maintained, and friendly. Living at Sophia at Abacoa feels like you're on vacation at an exclusive resort. We like Abacoa and the nearby restaurants but Sophia Apartments are nothing special. The units are in dire need of a facelift.

Good luck if you need something fixed... like no hot water, running toilets, garbage disposal not working. You put in a work order through the resident portal- 3 weeks later you have to call and call to get an answer about if and when things will be fixed. they give you the run around every time you call... saying they will be there today- cancel your life and wait for them to come- then when you call at 4pm you get- oh they will be there tomorrow OR they forget to put in service orders for emergency (no hot water) repairs; when you sit captive in your house waiting for them to come fix things and have to call to find out that they forgot to submit order. Frustrating and poorly run. It’s a shame because the units and facilities are nice... BUT Unacceptable for the price you pay per month. I have live in Manhattan, West Virginia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania- never have i rented from such a poorly run complex- especially one this big. No wonder i am always seeing moving trucks around here!

Location and amenities are beautiful. Make sure to tour your apartment and check before signing the lease as we were very disappointed when we walked in the first time after basing our expectations on the beautiful model. Management do not follow up either to ensure the jobs are completed to your satisfaction leading to repeatedly having to chase them down with subsequent issues.

Our almost first year at Sophia at ABACOA has been great. The on site Management has been responsive to what few concerns we have had. The Maintenance staff is friendly and professional and have demonstrated that they can efficiently correct problems when called. It's a fun place to live.

Ive been at the Sofia for 9 months now and absolutely love it! With the most amazing staff and endless social activities...hopefully more soon, Im quite happy here. The fitness center, clubhouse, swimming pool and office are brand new and perfect. Im ready for the fitness classes to start up again. The nature trail in back goes on forever. The location is perfect at University and Central. And I havent met an unfriendly person yet. I dont have a dog, but there is a dog park that is well used. Lots of happy dogs around.

We ended up not going into the place for several reasons including the staffs rudeness and hard time during the process. We did not move in and two weeks later we received a letter charging us money that we do not owe through “National Credit Systems”. They will do everything to get more money out of you. And to top it off there was a fatal shooting that occurred with 3 victims.

Worst management and a money PIT ! Do not tent from these people ! It’s is not that nice for the money and the people are a joke here! The inside of apartments are kind of been re done but it’s old still! Too expensive for what you get !!! Go anywhere else !

Lived at Sophia of Abacoa for nearly 3 years. Enjoyed my time there. Within the complex they have continually added new amenities. With some of them came an increase in cost, but that should be expected and they gave plenty of warning and options. The area around Abacoa is impressive, having the Marlins and St Louis Cardinals spring training camp next door and the local Jupiter Hammerheads play ball there as well. Great Restaurants, bars grills, bakery, putt putt golf for just a few things. I would move back in a heart beat

I recently applied for an apartment didn't take the apt because of all the extra fees I was required to pay. I had a 769 credit score and my husbands is around 690 but he does have a bankruptcy that's almost 5 years old. I was told I would owe $500 plus another $1728.00 for deposit. Our income is fine. Then said we owed too high credit card balance. Which is crap because we just paid all credit cards off. So I said absolutely not. I never have had to pay more for a deposit and I'm not starting now. I personally think they are nickel and diming applicants to death. Perry who I was dealing with said they would cut me a check from the home office and I would have within 30 days for $425. Well today all I got was a move out statement showing Sophia owed us $325 which is incorrect they owe us $425. Because we did online we were overcharged $100 for the application fee and I was assured I would get that $100 back. So when I didn't get a statement last week and only got this piece of paper which has the wrong amount on it so I call her and she then tells me it will take 60 days?? WHAT??? The reviews about how rude the ladies in the office are trust me are 100% accurate. Perry was the most awkward person I have dealt with and then someone named Donna answered one day and had to get Perry on the phone to help me with some questions and Donna makes the comment. "What do you want me to tell her because this is taking time away from the floor" of course I can hear everything. I wish I had gone with my gut feeling then and walked away before wasting my money. Florida law states deposits must be refunded within 15 days. So today 3/13 ( 30 days later) I finally got a check but they shorted me $100. So back to the drawing board. Spoke with Ryan today he was going to call the home office. I told him I wanted this check overnighted and him to call me after speaking with someone. Well guess what that was 4 hours ago and no return phone call. These are the most unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with and very glad I did not end up renting here. By the after having to threaten with getting the local news involved in solving my issue I had a check overnighted and had the next day. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!

If you can, avoid this apartment complex. Lots of issues within the apartment management. Property Manager is not at all in control. Property has declined significantly since the new company took over. The positive about the apartment complex is the location to Abacoa.
I have lived at this complex for nine years. It recently was purchased and is under new management. The start was a little rocky but I can see how the management is actually fixing things on property like new ACs and a new trash compactor. They are updating the interiors of the apartments FINALLY and I am very excited to transfer into my new apartment next month. They also have a lot planned for the grounds and outdoor areas like the pools. The Abacoa area is amazing with lots to do and events every weekend. I know the rents are going up on the new units but compared to everything else in Jupiter I would rather pay more a little more to live here.
This place is my favorite apartment complex that I have lived in. I believe I was the second person to live in mine and it is very classy and upscale for not a super expensive rate. The ladies in the clubhouse are awesome! They plan a lot of events for all the tenants to participate in and it's a great way to meet people. A lot of mixed ages are in the area, so that is also very nice.
Used to be named Vintage at Abacoa. Recently changed hands. They keep it looking nice. Very pretty place and lots of amenities. My only complaints are the garbage disposal is broken often and trash is left sitting out and rodents and such are attracted to the area. Also the rent went up almost $100 in a year. Seems excessive.
Serene and gorgeous.The amenities one would die for. The staff is extremely professional and quck to react to resident issues.
