It may not have the flashy reputation of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but Sacramento embodies the very best of what makes California so unique. The city is well known for preserving its history, from early settlements like Sutter’s Fort to the gorgeous 19th century architecture of Old Sacramento to the artifacts in the Sacramento History Museum. Pop culture and the fine arts are well-represented, with local stages hosting symphony concerts and rock shows and galleries displaying works by the old masters as well as modern upstarts. The local restaurant scene is famous for its heavy emphasis on “farm to fork” principles, making it one of the best places to find fresh, locally sourced food.
Those living in Sacramento love to take advantage of the mild climate, whether that means biking the River Trail, taking the kids to Fairytale Town, or heading over to Sutter Health Park to catch a River Cats baseball game.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Pointe Townhomes
Where do I start? Parking is horrible. Each unit gets one spot, and the overflow parking is in a really crappy, unsafe parking lot next door. Our car has been vandalized twice over there. There are only a few (about 4) "open" spots that are always taken, so if you have more than one car in your household, one of you has to park in the unsafe parking lot next door. In that parking lot, you will find used needles, condoms, and your car WILL be vandalized at some point. Because of the lack of safe parking, also expect at least half of your neighbors to park in a completely disrespectful manner, often times blocking you in. And they don't care. The fire lane also constantly has cars parked. *All of the neighborhood children play in the parking lot, a lot of times unsupervised. I'm absolutely shocked none of them have been hit by a car yet. * Maintenance is awful. You have to call repeatedly to get something fixed, and you usually just get a replacement that is in just as bad of shape as the one that was broken. Also, it probably won't be installed correctly. *They don't do any type of pest control, so there are often roaches in the grass, and we constantly get bugs in the house. *The don't take care of the property whatsoever. I don't think the exteriors have been painted in years, and it shows. It won't stop them from jacking up your rent every year though. * NO privacy whatsoever. People stand in front of our living room window and just hang out, talk on their phone, etc. Patios in the back offer zero privacy. They're only waist high and they're wooden slats, not closed off walls. People can easily climb over the patio fence. Don't put anything on your patio that could be easily stolen because it will be. Walls are paper thin, so I can always tell what my neighbors are doing. I even know when they're sick, because you can hear EVERYTHING. The buildings were clearly not well built.
My boyfriend and I lived at The Pointe from November 2017 to June 2018. During our stay: 1) The place was UNSECURE. a. My boyfriend’s car was vandalized. We had two cars and only one assigned spot and were assured that the overflow parking was safe. It wasn’t. b. Though there is a gate, it is usually left open and people will wander in from the street. c. For the first two months, we did not have screens on some of our windows (see #3). 2) Appliances DIDN’T WORK. a. The dryer required 2-3 runs per load, and this was after lint was pulled out of the vent. b. The washer came apart when running and needed to be banged on to start. c. The dishwasher leaked water. 3) Maintenance was UNRELIABLE. a. It took two months for us to get screens on our windows, and at that time it was done by someone filling in for The Pointe’s staff. b. We were promised that the dryer would be fixed, but it was not, and maintenance staff left the pile of lint on our patio. c. We were promised that the dishwasher would be replaced, but the date was postponed multiple times. d. The bathroom fan was noisy upon move-in. We were promised it would be repaired, but it was not replaced until after 1 ½ months, during which maintenance staff damaged the ceiling. We were told they would repair the ceiling, but they never did, and the replacement fan was still loud. e. We had similar problems with the living room paint, a cabinet that was ajar, and a huge crack in the bedroom door where all had been promised to be fixed right away and were not. 4) Staff were UNAVAILABLE. a. Staff were often not in the office during posted hours. b. It was rare to reach staff via phone on the first try. 5) Grounds were UNCLEAN. a. Dumpsters and grounds were not kept clean and free of debris. b. Our patio didn’t not drain, creating a pool of stagnant water.
