It may not have the flashy reputation of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but Sacramento embodies the very best of what makes California so unique. The city is well known for preserving its history, from early settlements like Sutter’s Fort to the gorgeous 19th century architecture of Old Sacramento to the artifacts in the Sacramento History Museum. Pop culture and the fine arts are well-represented, with local stages hosting symphony concerts and rock shows and galleries displaying works by the old masters as well as modern upstarts. The local restaurant scene is famous for its heavy emphasis on “farm to fork” principles, making it one of the best places to find fresh, locally sourced food.
Those living in Sacramento love to take advantage of the mild climate, whether that means biking the River Trail, taking the kids to Fairytale Town, or heading over to Sutter Health Park to catch a River Cats baseball game.

Property Ratings at The Oaks at River College
This place is a joke!! We, pay, for Water, but almost 3 years later!! No….Pool… Available to Swim?? The pool is kept up!!! But, still…it’s ..Not… Open!!!????? Now!! They charge for Parking if, you have more than one Car!! They, take to long in fixing things, and Just keep raising the “Rent””!!
We moved in a couple of years ago, we moved in, mainly out of desperation to get away from a very bad living situation. I won't go into the details, other than to say that it went from good to worse. So, when we saw the apartment we are in right now, it was a God-sent. It even had two bedrooms. We previously came from a one bedroom apartment. Little did we know how badly we had chosen. Where do I begin. The layout: a perfect rectangle. We never did fit the all of our belongings into this place, that the other one bedroom could contain. They are still in storage. Termites, that were so stubborn, they had to remove the wall in the second bedroom, twice. The electrical system must have been put in by someone on crank. Switches weren't working, or working in a weird way. The place has paper thin insulation, that let's you hear the next door neighbors music two apartments away. People driving by blasting their car stereos cranked at the highest volume, day and night. The living room is a postage stamp and there's no dining area. And when it rains, there's a flood at our doorstep. Still, things could be worse. The neighbors have improved over the years. Management has improved, and things are getting fixed. And aside from the fact that someone drove into the electric wire with a big truck, and nearly pulled our bathroom out, and cause electrical failure for a day and half, I guess it's not too bad. But, it could be better. Money is tight, so unfortunately, we don't have another option, right now. We sure would like to win the money for another apartment though. One that is nice and in a quieter neighborhood, with a decent living room, and storage space inside.
