My husband and I sold our house after 11 years. Needless to say, we did our research and toured many apartments in Grand Forks. After living in a home, we had certain needs that we wanted met. To be honest, The Legacy Apartments were the last apartment we were looking at and we almost did not go to the showing. But man am I glad we did! We walked into the apartment and were amazed by the space, and it had an actual dining room, which was important to me. It's open concept, with a feel of home. The apartment met all of our needs, in unit washer/dryer, dining room, central air, and spacious without the feel of a box apartment, pet friendly with a gigantic dog park. We have been in our 'home' for a little over a month now. We have had to call maintenance a few times after hours, they have been so great to attend to our needs in a timely matter and friendly to do so! We are enjoying the underground parking and I know we will for sure enjoy that come winter! I have also spoke with other long-term tenants and they have had nothing but great things to say about the staff and the property, which calmed my nerves and questions. Overall, we are very satisfied with our experience and new 'home'. We look forward to spending our next years here!

The office staff and maintenance people are so nice, all the time. I got locked out of my building because I forgot my keys in my apartment and the staff helped me quickly and the ladies at the front desk offered to get me a drink while I waited for someone to come to help me. Great place to live!

Do you want an honest review? Read this! When I was searching for an apartment I was looking all over for a few things... big kitchen, big closets, and laundry in unit. I was looking at a few other places but nothing fit my budget and HALF of the places I called and left a voicemail to never called back! I called Legacy apartments and within a few minutes I knew I was going to call Legacy home. After the tour with Megan we were so surprised to learn that they pay the heating cost (in ND who wouldn't love that!), washer and dryer in unit, TWO underground parking spots in a HEATED garage! Any time we have had an issue maintenance is quick to help and Dave will teach you about it if you ask :) The office is decorated so cute and everyone always has a smile on their faces! The dog park is HUGE and the fitness center is literally the perfect size (& 24/7)!

The price, location, and staff are excellent. My apartment is beautiful and I absolutely look forward to coming home every day because it’s so nice! There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and stores nearby. And the Greenway is a short drive away. I highly recommend Legacy Apartments. I know people in other apartments nearby that aren’t nearly as happy as I am with Legacy.

The apartments at Legacy are spacious and updated, have great amenities and friendly staff. Maintenance takes care of issues quickly. Close to shopping and restaurants also. Love it here!!

Nice quiet and well kept place to live. Staff is friendly and amenities are great. Green space and playground for kids and dog park is a nice. Staff is friendly and helpful and Maintenance is quick and efficient. Highly recommend this property.

Just moved into Legacy and we are super excited. Such great amenities and the staff is so nice, and accommodating. Helped make the move super easy answered all my questions. My toddler loves the play set and green space right outside our unit. Very clean and quiet. The best part has been the central air and updated unit! Definitely worth the move. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff.

I just moved in about a week ago, and I have nothing but good things to say. Rent is priced accordingly to all of the amenities you’re getting. Management responds quickly and are very attentive to all of your needs and questions. There were a few problems with the apartment when I moved in that were less than satisfactory, HOWEVER, they were taken care of in less than a week, and completed with care. Couldn’t imagine a better place for the price!

I have just moved in, but the process of leasing and picking up my keys was really easy. The apartment was very clean when I moved in, which was great. Legacy made a stressful thing like moving almost stress free.

Return from deployment on 26 May to move into Legacy on 30 May.Have everything on the U-Haul at 08:50 AM ready to move in. Was told that I couldn’t move in today had to move in on 1 June sound harmless. Now I have no place to stay, so I have to ask a friend or hotel after sleep in a tent. I will have to pay for a U-Haul for nothing. Also have to tell Five Star storage I will need my storage longer which will be more money out my pocket. I have the email that say what the asking price and also fill out everything they as me too, they took the $150 out the account also smh.

Management is awful. Maintenance is terrible. Nothing but a headache when you need something fixed, and depending on what is broken, it may not get fixed at all. The physical apartment was great, but it's not worth all the stress dealing with the people that work there.

Management is terrible. Maintenance is terrible. They tried to scam me into paying more deposit than was listed on my lease agreement. AC broke in June and it took them a week to fix it while it was 90º out. There are way nicer apartments in Grand Forks for less money. The building is old and it's starting to show. IRET is completely unwilling to modernize the place. Go somewhere else, you'll regret living here. All of my neighbors say it was a mistake to live here too. No one in the building is happy with the company.

We regret to hear that you had this experience with us. We track all of our service requests and I am unable to locate any air conditioner request that was not corrected within 24 hours. IRET has Maintenance on call 24 hours 365 days and we require our vendors to as well in the event our team cannot resolve any issue. I apologize that your expectations were not me, but please know the situation as listed is not typical of the service IRET strives to provide. Legacy is and has been a pillar in the community for nearly 20 years. It is our desire to maintain that status and last year IRET reinvested, on average, more than $13,000 per unit in more than 200 apartment homes and updated common areas with new flooring and more energy efficient LED lighting. We updated the kitchens, baths, upgraded flooring and lighting packages, really too much to list. And we are doing even more this year. This was offered to current resident as well with their renewal, but I apologize that you did not get a chance to see all that we have done. Again, I apologize for your frustrations. We hold high expectations of ourselves as we feel our residents should too. A friend and I just moved in to this apartment a couple of weeks ago and so far we are really enjoying it. I came to this apartment from a previous apartment and the difference between the two is night and day! The management companies are different and you can definitely tell which company cares about their tenants. The apartment was clean and everything worked when we moved in and the ground are all kept so nicely and it's been a joy to live there so far. It's situated so close to all the shopping and restaurants that if you really wanted to you could walk pretty much anywhere. But even though it's located in such a busy area with so much going on it's still so quiet and it just feels like home and that's been so nice after coming from an apartment located close to a downtown bar scene in a college town. So even though it's only been a couple of weeks and not really enough time so see how everything is going to go I can honestly say at this point I am very happy with my apartment and look forward to spending some time there.
