Property Ratings at The Lakes Apartments
I have lived here for 6 years. We've seen a few managers pass through the office, but they are all good in their own way. I would prefer consistency. I usually have to wait up to a week for small work orders, but maintenance guy Lee is pretty cool. My neighbors are friendly, but sometimes gossip gets the best of them. I don't engage. My apartment is basic and that suits me. Pretty grounds and the flowers are so nice to see. I don't have a vehicle so I don't have the issue with break ins, but this is Tucson and people need to lock their cars. Sometimes I can hear my neighbors TV, but we are friendly and I just ask him to turn it down he's a reasonable guy. No bed bugs for me...and it looks like bed bug reviews were from folks who never actually had them. On that note many of these reviews look unreasonable for living in an apartment. I love it here it's cute and I couldn't ask for more. You'll be glad to live here.
I wouldn't recommend keeping your car here!!! Too many break-ins and car thefts including mine! I reported the theft and the crime reports show 0 crime related incidences here which is 100 percent false. Not only do cars get broken into, the apartments themselves do as well. In a matter of fact I just learned there was a unconfirmed murder here about 7 months ago. You'd think management would tell you about these occurrences but don't. We haven't had a meeting to address this but for sure I'll make sure everyone knows here what they are trying to not say. Please choose a safer place! The last meeting we had people wanted to protect the community but management said it would be too costly and ignored the request. Instead, they renovate the inside of the complex for looks and can't afford the security to protect us?! The main reason I wanted to write this post is when another car gets hijacked or burglarized, you can go ahead and sue the apartment complex for punitive damages because they are well aware of the crime happening here and do nothing about it.
Reading a previous review, I am reminded that some poeple are never truly happy unless they have something to complain about. Good luck finding the "perfect" apartment where apppliances never wear out and all the neighbors are destined for sainthood. I have never been lied to here in over 13 years. The grounds are well-maintained, and there are many upgrades in the works. Neighbors look out for one another, and it is quiet here. Truthfully, I have no intention of ever moving.

We are looking forward to many of our property projects completing in 2019 and we will continue to make upgrades to the apartments when the time is right. We do consider our residents when making upgrades and new appliances and upgraded features inside add to a monthly bill for our residents, and let's be honest, NOBODY WANTS to pay more. We value you and hope that your next 13 years are just as grand!
Absolutely ridiculous. First off, this place is NOT smoke free and people have more than one dog, there are no restrictions. Second, this place is a dump. Buyer beware if you're going to move your loved one, a senior citizen into this place where stairs are dangerous (no protection against the sun - if you take a tour, check it out), break-ins are common (three in the past week), and repairs are just a band-aide for the deeper problem. Like bedbugs? Well, the pest control truck might as well set up shop here, every few months someone's apartment is getting a bedbug problem. And on top of everything, some of the neighbors are whackjobs. One is gun happy, another sounds an alarm at 2 in the morning, and more yell at the neighbors. Do yourself a favor, move elsewhere. You'll regret living here. There are plenty of senior citizen places in Tucson avoid this one.

Hello, In response to your review, we are a 55 community and cater to an active senior lifestyle, however, we do have an allotted percentage of residents under 55 and over 18. In the last 6 months we have replaced full stairwells with new wood and that work will continue through 2019. We are proud of this effort to maintain the community and look forward to future renovation projects. Regarding break ins this week alone I have had no reports from the police department of such events. We do communicate to our residents to lock vehicles. Unfortunately, most often this is failed when I have received the report in the office. If a crime was committed against you, PLEASE notify us so that we are fully aware. In our community we require a background screening, income and residency verification of all residents have met this qualification. Regarding bedbugs, any pest issue notified to the office is immediately addressed through Northwest Exterminating. Even one bug is an issue in our eyes and we handle this aggressively to rectify the issue. Our office values all of our residents comfort and enjoyment of our beautiful community . We have an open door policy, please see me when you have time so we can address and resolve the other issues you mentioned. We are here to help! Thank you.
