Wedged between the Cape Fear River and Carolina Beach Road, Echo Farms is a beautiful neighborhood about five miles south of Downtown Wilmington. Echo Farms Golf & Country Club winds through the center of the neighborhood, making this the ideal neighborhood for golfing enthusiasts, and nearby Halyburton Park provides more natural beauty with a nature preserve, picnic areas, a walking/bicycling trail, and a playground. Echo Farms is also five miles southwest of the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and 12 miles away from Cape Fear Community College. For those who enjoy boating, Watermark Marina is just outside the neighborhood.
Ideally located, apartments in Echo Farms provide easy access to the entire Wilmington area. Go shopping at nearby Independence Mall, or head 10 miles northeast to Wrightsville Beach to enjoy beachcombing, swimming, and surfing. Masonboro Island, accessible only by boat, is roughly four miles away.

Property Ratings at The Keys at 17th Street
These people just want to take your money. We applied to live in one of there apartments. Short story short the apartment we where applying for had a waitlist. They wanted to keep our application fee of $120. We would have never applied for the apartment if we knew it was promised to someone else. I had to call up raising hell to get our money back. Then I check my email and they had sent me an email saying we didn't qualify for there apartments. That's not what you said a couple of days ago. Do not apply to live here. They are horrible.
This is the perfect community if you want to meet lots of friendly people of various ages. They offer Line Dancing, Yoga and Water Aerobics on a weekly basis! Best maintenance team in town and the management staff gives our free hugs on a regular basis when you come to the office. Life is GOOD at The Keys!
THIS IS LIKE HOME. FLOOR PLANS ARE GREAT WITH A DINNING AREA AND FIREPLACE. I'M CLOSE TO HOSPITALS, MEDICAL FACILITIES, MARKETS, AND MALL AND SHOPING. MINUTES FROM THE OCEAN AND CLEAN BEACHES. INDOOR AND OUT DOOR POOL AND HOT TUB. PLAY AREAS, TENNIS, SAND VOLLY BALL, RACKET BALL CLUB AND GREAT GYM. CAR WASH AREA, LAUNDRY AND PET FRENDLY, WALKING TRAIL,CLUB HOUSE AND GREAT NEIGHBORS AND COOK OUT AREAS. LOTS OF ACTIVITY GOING ON FOR THE RENTERS. STAFF ARE THE MOST HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHAT MORE CAN ONE ASK FOR IT'S JUST A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN.
This complex is average but is in a good location and the price is better than most in the area. On the plus side, they recently updated the fitness center and have a great pool. On the negative side, they need to do more renovations and keep it updated (complex has been around for a while)and they need to spend some money on pest control!! There are a lot of newer communities in the vicinity but they are more expensive.
Imagine you have lived your entire 71 years on the West Coast of the United States. One day a friend comes to you and asks if you would be interested in moving to North Carolina. After a week of pondering, you decide that, "Yes, yes you are". Wilmington is located in South Eastern NC between the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Fear River. There is a River Walk with restaurants and shops all along the waterfront, downtown. We have so many places to go and things to do. There are museums and theatres and restaurants and nothing is further than 20 minutes away. Should this happen to you, look no further than The Keys at 17th Street for your apartment. The complex is sprawling, green and open. The clubhouse has the rental office and contains an awesome exercise room, racquetball court, bathrooms and showers and an indoor pool and hot tub. All adjacent to the outdoor, resort-style pool, tennis courts, sand volleyball court and playground. There is a Great Room and TV and a kitchen. There are 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that are airy and bright. The 2 and 3 bedroom apartments have 2 patios/balconies. There are laundry closets for your washer and dryer with pocket doors. You can see these floor plans here at apartments.com but what you can't see is how open and airy and green it all really is. And the weather isn't bad, either. I live at The Keys at 17th Street in Wilmington, NC and I feel like I am on a never-ending vacation. I don't need Bermuda or the Bahamas---my life is now a vacation. Everything in Wilmington is 5 to 20 minutes away and Myrtle Beach SC is only 1 1/2 hour away. Even though I am 74 yrs. old, I bowl 3 times a week, I swim, use the gym and play a little racquetball and feel so alive. Thanks to The Keys Apartments. This is the life. Please, check out The Keys and it could be yours. I sure hope to see y'all here real soon.
The area is quite serene, no noisy or rude neighbors. Conveniently located for shopping, work and play. The management and maintenance teams have been MORE than helpful, courtesy and informative. I was limited with my housing options but they were able to help me rent . I had reservations at first because of some reviews I read but they're dismissed. I really consider it to be my home sweet home.
