Mid-century ranch homes and large apartment complexes fill the streets of Far East Pasadena, with some arts and crafts gems dotted here and there toward the western end of the neighborhood. Residents often pick up dinner from local diners with a long history in the community.
To enjoy the outdoors, locals head into the San Gabriel Mountains to the north of the neighborhood for hiking. To the west of the area, Pasadena City College stands as one of the premier junior colleges in Southern California. Most local residents commute to work in nearby Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley, or downtown Los Angeles.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Huntington at Pasadena
I`m living in this complex for 1.5 years now. - Last summer my car was broken into - I had to replace the window. And during the summer about 4 other cars were broken into. Plus it happened again about a month ago to my neighbor. - I`ve started to park my car on the street - I thought it is safer as there are windows and someone can hear if something is going on. I was wrong. My spare wheel was stolen! - Garage lock never works...
This is a great apartment building! The units are cozy during the winter and cool during the summer, with lots of storage space. The courtyard, pool, laundry room, and picnic area are well maintained and the maintenance and manager are incredibly helpful and nice. Perfectly situated between Old Town Pasadena and the Westfield mall, plus there are tons of restaurants, coffee shops, and several grocery stores near by if you need them. The parking is in the alley behind the building; however, it is adjacent to a nice, quiet street where dog walkers and peacocks(!) frequent. The apartment complex is a gated community giving you privacy and quiet, and the neighbors--most of whom have dogs or cats--are all very polite and friendly. Great place to make a home!
