Leasing team is amazing they are so friendly and helpful. When I moved in the property was taking on new management and the leasing team did the best they could to get me into my apartment. However I would expect a lot more from a “luxury” apartment in Scottsdale. When I moved in my apartment was dirty, scuff marks on the walls, touch ups on the walls and doors instead of just repainting. Dirty carpets that are old, stained, and fraying that should have been replaced. The apartment is not soundproof at all if you don’t live on the top floor get used to hearing your neighbor stomp around all over their apartment and hearing your neighbors TV, radio, games, talking, etc. it’s not the leasing teams fault but the building is poorly constructed and maintained. My biggest regret is not walking my unit before signing my lease. If I saw what I was walking into I wouldn’t have signed a lease here.

I have the biggest one bedroom and it’s an w awesome apartment. Lots of room and great for having guests over. I’m going to miss living here.
The complex and amenities are around average and the units are large and spacious. Just outside of old town Scottsdale and downtown. Location and units are wonderful. However some small items around the complex are neglected.

I really enjoy living at the Griffin. I’d appreciate more lounge chairs outdoor with exposure to sun. A sauna, steam room or cold plunge would be an AMAZING addition. More decorations on the walls of the hallways would also be great. Other than that, the people are nice and the amenities are great.

The Griffin is a great location and has a lovely staff! 4/5 stars because it is a little pricey. We did not have gas for 3 weeks during the holidays and were never compensated for such in our monthly rent. However, I do love the gas utilities and I'm very happy we got our gas fixed! The gas stove is a main reason we live here.

I am a newer resident of The Griffin but it has been a phenomenal experience thus far. The leasing office staff and the vendors I’ve encountered around the complex are kind, personable, and genuine. The amenities are clean, accessible, and beautiful. I’m thrilled to lay by the pool this summer. My unit is clean, spacious, and very reasonable rent-wise given the location and upgrades in the unit. Moving was a breeze - the smoothest moving experience I’ve ever had (and I’ve moved a lot in my life). I’d recommend The Griffin to anyone looking to move to the Old Town area.

Friendly staff, great location, really fun community of friends we’ve made. Pool area is great in summer, we never leave downstairs. Gym is nice, and has just about everything you need. There’s been some car thefts and a few rude neighbors that I was never followed up with but over all, great community.

Nice amenities, nice apartments, but high price. Constant maintenance issues, some crime as well. Most issues are related to management, the actual location and apartments are fine.

Love living here it’s a great community of friends I’ve made and so many great amenities. Gym, coffee station, water station, hot tub! Pool is so fun in summer we have parties and bbqs :)

Decent complex with decent amenities. Location just outside of Old Town. Maintenance and office staff take a while to respond to and fix issues.

My husband and I have been living at The Griffin for 3 years now, and we just renewed for a bigger apartment for another year. We love it here. The staff is awesome, and the location is even better. The apartments are beautiful, and up-to-date. 5 stars!

Staff is very friendly and helpful in times of need, Stacy helped me bring my groceries to my apartment when they were dropped off at the wrong place which was super helpful
My wife & I have been living at Griffin for 10 months & we’ll be moving out next month; a month early (we’re willing to pay double rent for a month because we’re that ready to move on). The good: #1.) Friendly staff. The bad: #1.) The noise. I realize my wife & live near Old Town Scottsdale, so a little bit of partying comes with the territory & we even enjoy it to a certain extent. However, the noise at Griffin is excessive. We have a pool view unit & nearly every Saturday & Sunday (especially in the summer) the pool fills up with 100+ people & one or two of them will bring their boom box down to the pool & crank their music all day long. Again, we can enjoy a little bit of fun on the weekends but every now & then it would be nice to relax in our unit without hearing the base at the pool. It’s often loud enough that we’re unable to hear our own TV. On top of that, almost every weekend, a few of the units around the building throw house parties. Again, I don’t want to be that guy, but when the parties last till 3-4 in the morning, it gets a bit tiresome. We’ve had to call the city to file a noise complaint multiple times with most of those calls happening after 3am. Partying till midnight is one thing. Till the middle of the night is another. Especially on a Sunday night when most have work the next morning. We’ve filed the same complaints with the staff at Griffin, but they tend to go unresponded to. #2.) The safety (or lack thereof). Our car has been broken into twice. Our second week living at Griffin, our car was broken into we had sunglasses & gym bags stolen. When we called Griffin to make them aware & see if they could look into it on the security cameras, we were informed that the garage doesn’t have security cameras. #3.) The broken amenities. On our floor, there’s a trash shoot, so that you don’t have to walk down to the first floor to throw away your garbage. It has rarely worked since we moved in 10 months ago. The elevator has consistently broken down. Last summer, our air conditioning went out multiple times & instead of calling a professional, they’d call their in-house maintenance team who struggled to get it fixed. The maintenance team also does not work on the weekends. So we’ve had our A/C go out on a Saturday & we spent the weekend in a hotel before they were able to get it working again on Monday.

Current resident at Alta Drinkwater, have had issues with roof rats in our place. A month after we moved in. As well as finding RAT droppings in common areas. Rat traps set around all perimeters, rats running across common areas. Lack of communication between property management and us. Tried to have me and my wife give up our first amendment right and we have declined. Here are some pictures from our room and mail room.
To start we found out we had a rat infestation after a month of living here! It’s only been a couple of months since we’ve lived here so I’ll adjust my review at the end of our lease. Now back to the RATS right after our wedding dinner reception the next day we were at home and I swore I was hearing squealing & something moving around in the kitchen. The following day, we looked around and found rat droppings in the bathroom, behind the fridge, washer and dryer, and oven! In the water heater closet as well. We called the emergency line, left a a maintenance request and got no response. Also, we would later discover urine under and behind our furniture alongside droppings. Now fast forward a few days, still no one has come out or got in contact with us... so husbands brother & friends came over, I told them I was pretty sure rats were living in the oven and long story short after several hours they got a huge rat that was living in the oven! We heated the oven to 500 degrees and started shaking it to get it out. We called the emergency line telling them we needed someone to come out immediately, they said it would be a couple of hours. Maintenance ended up coming out, hours later, we told them we caught and killed one. So they left no traps, and disregarded it as an issue. So I’m fearful for a couple of days, because I’m hearing noises in the kitchen as I’m going to bed. I went into the office after I noticed my dogs food was in the bathroom near one of their hiding spots under the sink. We had to temporarily move out because our apartment became uninhabitable. There were two-three rats caught on traps while we were gone everyday!!!!!!! We were checking in on our way to work daily. We made a list of demands for the blatant disregard and negligence from the wood property management. The property manager denied our request stating that it was not an issue they could control basically, that it would be the same as having ants. They also requested we sign an NDA at this point. I told the property manager I needed to speak with someone above her because we were always met with pushback. The property director or whom ever he “supposedly” was, agreed after speaking with their lawyers to give us let’s say 9/10 things on our list or an option to break our lease and have movers paid for contingent upon us signing the non disclosure agreement.
