      Packages frequently get lost and management tends to side with neighbors who make unsubstantiated complaints. Guest parking was eliminated, the purple curb that used to be for visitors now results in towing which feels unfair. I’ve also heard management plans to start charging for parking even though it was originally included in the lease. That kind of nickel and diming leaves a bad taste and makes tenants feel undervalued. On the positive side, Rayel has been great and Patrick was always cheerful and helpful, they made the community better. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for some of the other office staff who often come across as unhelpful, condescending, or just plain uninterested. It feels like they don’t care, which is disappointing as a tenant. Staff also often boss tenants around about picking up packages, sometimes saying they need to be collected within 24 hours. That comes across as unreasonable, tenants have busy schedules and it isn’t always possible to drop everything right away. A more tenant friendly policy would allow at least 3–4 days for package pickup. Instead this approach creates unnecessary stress over something that should be simple and convenient. The elevators also consistently smell unpleasant after cleaning, either from dirty mop water or harsh chemicals. A small upgrade like using a fresher cleaning solution would go a long way. Overall the focus seems to be more on squeezing extra dollars than creating a positive tenant experience. It’s sad to see because a little more care and respect toward residents would completely change the atmosphere here.

That said, we’ll revisit options to help keep the elevators feeling fresher for everyone. On package pickup, we understand it can feel rushed, and we apologize if it’s caused stress. The reason we sometimes ask residents to collect packages more quickly is that the package room can get very full, which makes it difficult for neighbors using strollers or wheelchairs to safely move through. We’ll certainly take your feedback into consideration as we continue to look at ways to make this process smoother and more tenant-friendly.       I’ve been living in this apartment building for almost a year. Overall, it’s been a decent experience. The units are spacious with a nice layout, and I love the large windows that bring in a lot of natural light. Maintenance requests are usually handled within a couple of days, which is great. However, parking can be a nightmare since there aren’t enough guest spots, and street parking fills up fast. The neighbors are generally quiet, and I haven’t had issues with noise. The building itself is kept pretty clean, and management sends updates regularly. One downside is that rent increases every year, even though amenities haven’t changed. The laundry room could use some upgrades, but at least the machines work most of the time. Overall, it’s a comfortable place to live, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

      It took me two months to decide on this apartment, and I absolutely love it. Location is perfect. If you insist on a city + nature in one place, there is no better spot. A walk to Alamitos Beach and Marina Green is just two blocks. Also important, common areas are kept very clean, and the community rules and customs translate to the dogs at this property being well behaved. My feeling from the staff at The Current is that they genuinely want to ease your move-in and everyday life, which is unique. They are lovely people to have in a building that feels like home. Raelle is the one who helped me find my perfect apartment match, with an incredible beach view and hard flooring throughout. She is attentive to whatever comes up and knows LB well, offering many suggestions for places to go and things to do; she really helps build the community.

      Building and units are nice but the area around the building doesn’t feel safe any more. Even going to Vons is dodgy. Lots of crime and homelessness. Rates keep going up even though new renters get lower rates. If you are looking to rent at the Current, keep an eye on rates as they adjust them several times a month. Don’t wait til the end of the month to sign a lease as rates go up the last week of the month. You could end up with a rate several hundred dollars more than if you sign a lease in the middle of the month.

      Very easy and thorough tour of the apartment building. I love the rooftop pool has a great view of the ocean and marina. The elevators seem to be very quick which I love! Building is kept clean and there is after hours security to help me feel safe. Moving in was nice is easy as there is a loading zone for the mover’s truck.       I've been living at the current since they opened. I love the amenities and the area. Being close to the beach is always top tier! Only draw backs are that the rent increases at lease renewals, one parking space, no perks like one month free when you renew your lease anymore.

      The additional monthly Parking charges are ridiculous. There is no Loyalty once becoming a tenant, especially if leased for 5 years. It is purely transactional treatment, and your rent will increase. There are different rules for other people and timing. I rarely take time to take polls, but this is important to understand.

      I recently had a FexEx package stolen from mail room. Granted it is open common area however it is resident only area and this leaves really bad taste in my mouth. It is impossible to mistenly pick up a package addressed to someone else’s name, you know?

      The Current staff is the very best. Raelle acted interested in helping me find an apartment that was a perfect match and she and Denisse made each step of the leasing and move-in process easier. They are encouraging and knowledgeable about all aspects of the property and share that proactively so I became comfortable with the apartment community quickly. The building is kept very clean and residents are friendly. I've lived in similar apartment complexes across states, but this is by far the best one.

      When to go visit a friend and the staff was great! very nice, respectful and helpful. a staff member name Alex that was passing by helped me locate my friends apartment.Alex was great and even offered to take me directly to my friends apartment so I won't get lost and assure I meet with my friend.       The Current Long Beach Is Worth Looking Into!

      If you’re looking for a place that embodies unpretentious quiet luxury, you must take a closer look at The Current. The high-rise building offers beautiful views of the city or ocean, depending on what side of the building you’re on. The rooftop offers you the chance to sunbath, grill, and relax with stunning and sweeping ocean views. In the Leasing Office, Raelle is an absolute rockstar and true professional. If you tell her exactly what you’re looking for in a unit, she will keep your must-haves in mind, and will reach out when your perfect unit becomes available.       Perfect home!

      The Current is the best apartment complex I have lived in. The entire management team is amazing and makes sure we are taken care of. The maintenance team is amazing. Alex has been running the team for a few years and the building has never been better. Whatever needs to get fixed, Alex and Juan are getting it done. The ladies in the office are nice and ensure they’re available if any concerns arise. Pat, the manager, is also taking care of the property nicely and ensures we are happy living here. He is taking over well. Their teamwork shows when they make The Current a great place to live. Overall, I would highly recommend living at The Current!

      What living by the beach should feel like.

      I’ve been living here for about 4 months now and finally decorated my 2 bed 2 bath to my liking and it just feels like home. The hospitality of management, security workers, and even the service department here is amazing. The entrance to the beach is literally across the street and is a great place to start a run or even grab a drink at gaucho bar. It is the epitome of what living by the beach be like.
