The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. Property Ratings at The Cove at Heatherwilde - (62 & Older)
I moved in Nov 2022 into 1br, 1br. Love apartment, all surroundings, found the office staff as well as the two who are tasked with maintenance to be efficient, friendly. Entire grounds kept as clean as possible as time permits. Residents are very helpful and concerned about neighbors. Residents take over and organize many activities. Something to do if you want to get involved, or not. Meals on Wheels deliver as well as BWIB. Lots of food if you are in need.
Great place for my mom who is disabled. She loves being here. The staff are willing to go above and beyond to get things done. Thanks for making my mom feel at home there for over these past few years. Thank you to everyone there at the Cove. You guys are great and rock! Especially during the winter storm you pulled together and got the residents back in their home’s as quickly as you could. Kudos to you all!
Love the atmosphere and the people who live here. This is a quiet community that a lot of people look for. When not dealing with the elements of nature we have a beautiful pool and spa. The grounds are surround with native and colorful shrubs and flowers. My husband and I have lived here over 3 years. The current management strive to keep the community looking and running smoothly. It has taken 3 years of hard work on their part to make improvements to broken and some outdated systems. This community has been here over 15 years, not new but every bit as homey as you would like. Not like the feel of some other places we considered before choosing the Cove. There are many resident run activities to do. Cards and tournaments, crafts, Bible study, exercise, swimming with an aerobic class. A community bus for trips to HEB and Wal-Mart. People out for walks and some walk their dogs together. Like gardening? We have a community garden area where you can have a spot to grow flowers or vegetables. Caring neighbors who watch out and check up on each other and willing to help. We love the area and the people here at the Cove at Heatherwilde!!
Look beyond the front office area. Look CLOSELY —at the debris and mold/algae in the pool/spa (that hasn’t been open to residents’ use since summer 2019.) Look at gutters around the BACK of the office —that haven’t been cleaned in so long, plants are growing in them. Go to the units at the back of the complex to see dead trees and shrubbery that are long dead from lack of watering — and never removed or replaced. See the broken sidewalks, the freezers sitting on porches, rusty window units hanging off window sills, boxes and junk stacked on patios. A putting green that was only green with algae (May 2020.) Old junker maintenance carts hidden behind buildings. Mgmt/maintenance didn’t even bother cleaning my mom’s apt. before move-in— and it took 3 months and numerous calls and emails to the regional VP of Greystone before they fixed the issues with her apt. Nice area, and this COULD be a really nice property — probably once was “elegant” — too bad the management and maintenance staff gave up on it a long time ago. RENTER BEWARE— Look past the pics on the web, brochures and the model apartments!!
