The sprawling neighborhood of East Tuscaloosa provides residents with large, amenity-filled apartment complexes, as well as smaller condo buildings from which to choose. The whole neighborhood turns out for University of Alabama game days, often stopping at Baumhower's Restaurant to grab some wings to enhance the festivities. The university's presence, just to the west of East Tuscaloosa, gives parts of the neighborhood a college town feel.
With the Black Warrior River outlining the northern edge of East Tuscaloosa, residents of this neighborhood have easy access to whitewater paddling, fishing, and strolling along the beautiful river's banks. Residents enjoy shopping at the University Mall, anchored by Sears and JCPenney.

The cottages overall is a decent place to live. However be aware of frequent WiFi outages and other small occurrences that will randomly happen. The amenities are well kept, but be aware that the security is also very strict with timing in order to upkeep the property. They will also not hesitate to come on your property to shut activities down if they see fit. Overall not bad but good in the short term.

The cottages is very peaceful and well lit community. My personal favorite activities would be the lake trails and the pool table! Great experience so far!!!

The cottages has been a lovely experience for me and my roommates as we had no issues with move and no problem with asking for help as needed. Also the bus system saves me so much money and is another big favor on why I renewed!
