About an hour inland from Savannah, Statesboro is a charming small city steeped in history and culture. With Georgia Southern University occupying the south side, the college town atmosphere extends well beyond the campus with 20,000 enrolled students heavily influencing the city’s cultural landscape. The city’s Downtown district features countless examples or beautifully preserved architecture, with historic storefronts housing unique specialty shops and restaurants of every description, particularly clustered around the intersection of Main and Main (where North, South, East and West Main Streets come together).
The Statesboro Mall on the east side anchors the city’s larger retail district, with more shopping centers found along Fair Avenue near the Georgia Southern campus. Rental rates in Statesboro tend to be quite affordable, making life a little easier for folks on a budget.

Property Ratings at The Columns
I lived here for about a year. Pros: Great location near downtown Statesboro. Parking is great. The maintenance men are friendly and super helpful. The cost is relatively cheap and the apartment was pretty clean and kept up. Cons: My experience with the Landlord, especially during and after the move out process was very poor. Hard to get in touch with, and does not live in town. The walls were very thin, and the noise from the car shop next door and police sirens on South Main Street was miserable at times. I would consider living here again, but my experience with the landlord after moving out has caused me to reconsider
The landlord won't call you back if you have a issue, she will only text you no matter how many times you ask her to call you. She will only respond to you in text. I do have to say the maintenance guy is the only thing I do like of the place. He's very nice and works very hard. But there's only so much he can do, the landlord should take more responsibility.
For the first month my experience here is been terrible. There's a water damaged smell in my apartment that has refused to go away. The bugs are terrible from in my closet to the shower to all over the kitchen. Just yesterday found out there was a rat in my kitchen that seem to get into all my food. My air conditioner broke three times in one week. And my front door looks like it's been kicked in. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The landlord refuses to acknowledge the issues the someone has in their apartment. She refuses to respond but only via text. There was not a smoke detector in my apartment as if there should be one as part of code but I had to request one. Landlord told me about the time how the past tenant was a drug addict, which was good to know and renting the place but we didn't seem very necessary.
