Apartments are never cleaned before you move in. Drain was filled with hair. Dishwasher had food stuck to the bottom. Carpeting was very dirty.

Love the stainless appliances, high ceilings and granite countertops. They do have a lot of amenities, but I love the convenience of the location and access to downtown shopping and food. Great sense of community.

Life would be better off if you decided not to live here. Low value, over priced, operationally flawed, inconveniences left and right and the value overall is FAR greater elsewhere. Rent rises as performance and amenities fall.

Moved here from Los Angeles during the peak of COVID as a student. The staff here did their best to accommodate me during hard times in finding a place to live when others didn't. The neighborhood is always clean, has its own dog park, and management alongside maintenance is super responsive. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a more hip, modern setting.

The Brix is unmatched when looking for a contemporary styled living community. Just on the edge of the downtown area of Grand Rapids, the location allows for easy transportation with necessary shops within close distance. If the amenities don't sell this place to you, knowing you'll have the best staff you may ever meet should.
The brix is a lively and fun place to live with well kept amenities such as a year round pool/ hot tub , and 24/7 gym with nice equipment. The maintenance staff and office staff are AMAZING and will go above and beyond to satisfy your needs.
The Brix at Midtown provides high class amenities with a modern feel. If you value top notch living, this is the place to be.
My experience at Brix so far has been very pleasant.
I immediately love the updated modern layout of the apartment and all of the amenities In the community I have yet to use but know theyre there! The staff make themselves very approachable and very clear with an explanation and helping if can It was a pleasant surprise that there are so many young professionals like myself in this community; there are some older but for the most part seemingly pretty much the age grouping between 25 and 40 years old professionals

I have been a resident for almost 2 years and its been a great experience. The amenities are open year round and make living at the Brix so much fun. The location is perfect, close enough to downtown but easy to get to all the different parts of GR. The surrounding area has a lot to offer, is super pet friendly and walkable too! The staff is very friendly and willing, theyve put on some great community events that bring the residents together. Im so glad I chose the Brix as home!

I have loved my experience at Brix. From overall quality of the buildings and stunning amenities to updated appliances and spacious floor plans, this complex has really impressed me.
The location, the hot tub and other amenities, and the helpful staff are the main reasons why Brix is a great place to stay.

The Brix at Midtown is a phenomenal place to live. When looking for apartments to stay in I was looking for an affordable place that would provide air conditioning and heating. The Brix completely blew out my expectations with Kombucha and coffee at hand amenities. My partner and I are so happy to live here and I look forward to the next few years of being a resident.

The Brix is a wonderful community. The staff provides a social atmosphere that draws gregarious residents. A great place if you are new to the area or just want to meet new people.
Entitled college kids. ?? Overall experience has been great. I really wish some of the other residents were more respectful with the quiet hours and not jumping up and down and running around and playing music until midnight and the fact that the pool area is basically an echo chamber ????

The Brix at Midtown is a clean, modern, friendly place to live. The location is perfect to downtown offices, hospitals, restaurants, theaters, etc. I LOVE the washer & dryer in the apartment. Haven't tried the pool yet but will soon. Best staff ever!
I would advise anyone looking to live here to read all reviews. I can overlook small building issues but the lack of customer service skills from management tackled with the late night false fire alarms is ridiculous. The fire alarm has gone off 8 times since I moved in September '18. If you like having your alarm blasting at 3am and going to bed anxious about when the alarm will next go off, this is your place. I'd also like to point out that during my move-in I was electrocuted by opening my front door. Maintenance was called and it was determined there were staples through the electrical wiring right above my front door. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more electrical issues in the building causing problems. Other than maintenance apologizing I received no follow up from management.

I want to preface this with the fact that I have never left a review about a business - good or bad - but I feel strongly enough about the Brix that I can’t sit by and let others have the same kind of experience that I did while living here. This review is lengthy, but I hope that if you are deciding whether or not to live here that you take the time to read this, and seriously consider that decision. We moved into the Brix in August of 2017 when they first opened. From the beginning there was miscommunication between management, and we were almost never given clear or consistent answers to any questions we had whether it was about the lease, amenities, etc. Not only did we have to move in late, (which they did compensate us for thankfully) but we were promised - and forced to continue to pay for - amenities that were not available to us. We were originally told amenities would be ready in October 2017, however, they were not all fully available until around May 2018 (the gym was open earlier than the outdoor/pool area I believe around February). Fast forward to when it was time to move out we were told our 12 month lease was in fact a 13 month lease. We had been asked to sign multiple leases and somehow it was snuck past us that our lease was an extra month. This would all be fine if I trusted that the lease stated that from the beginning, and we just missed it. However, I have a pretty strong and unsettling feeling that this company would not be above altering documents to cover up discrepancies as they let go of the employee that we originally dealt with. Additionally, dealing with management even after we moved out continued to be a negative experience. When we received our security deposit back they claimed that we paid a different amount than our email and bank records showed. Again, I think that documents may have been deleted/altered after the employee we originally dealt with was terminated. I hope that isn’t the case, but I don’t feel too confident in their integrity. It is also impossible to get ahold of corporate, and when you do and they promise to call back, they will not. We decided to take the financial loss in order to never have to do business with this company and its management again. All in all, I would never recommend that someone live at the Brix at Midtown, and strongly recommend that you take your business elsewhere.
I’d advise anyone looking into this place to look elsewhere. Grand rapids has so many great housing situations (i’ve been renting here for 8 years) - i’ve never had such a bad experience as i did here. They lied continuously about amenities, prices, lease dates. When asked for documentation or when presented documentation that proved what they were doing did not align with what we signed - they stated we should have noticed earlier. the pool is not open year round and closes when the office closes, they told us free parking then tried to start charging us for parking, we signed a 12 month lease and they made us pay for a 13th month when we were completely moved out, we paid for endless amenities we never saw. We have lost so much money through this company and when you try to reach anyone higher up you cannot get a response. Please save yourself the struggle. I’ve spoken to people who currently live there, as well as those that lived there when we did, and have heard all similar stories. They’ve deleted and deactivated reviews on their facebook page d/t the volume of negative comments. Highly do not recommend.
This place is great! The finishing in the kitchen and bath are modern and have a great color scheme. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait to use the heated swimming pool and love that their fitness center has a yoga room. They really thought of everything I want in an apartment. They love my dog and even have a dog was and pet park area for him to run around in. I can't wait to move in!
