Full of character and things to do, Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood is nestled in the corner of East Broadway and Baxter Avenue. Known as “Restaurant Row,” the Highlands is home to every kind of culinary delight, from falafels to tacos and everything in between. With an array of bars, gastropubs, and tap rooms, the Highlands is notable for its local nightlife.
The Highlands hosts several parades and festivals year round, including the Louisville Zombie Attack Walk every August and the Louisville Irish Festival every September. The Louisville Zoo is just outside the neighborhood and organizes regular events as well. In addition to containing a number of eclectic businesses, the Highlands is convenient to Mid City Mall and Downtown Louisville retailers.

Love The Baxter and my apartment! My only complaint is that it can be a bit loud on Thursday mornings when trash gets picked up, but the location is unbeatable and the amenities are solid. The office staff is always super friendly and helpful and I’ve made a lot of good friends living here!

Great spot. This is the nicest apartment complex I have ever lived at. Maintenance is pretty quick to help with issues and the common areas are well kept, especially when compared to other places I've lived before.

I love it here! Best apartment I’ve lived in! Super peaceful besides my upstairs neighbors:) they sound like their running a marathon with how loud there steps are when home, but everything else is amazing! The pool, fitness gym, lounge, garage, and courtyard is great!" The Baxter is situated in such a. Great location. It’s a close commute to Indiana, but also so close to great restaurants and shopping stores on Bardstown Rd. There is beautiful neighborhoods around with historical homes, where I often take walks to enjoy nature! You’re also so close to the beautiful Cherokee Park. Definitely worth the price you pay!

Really astounding apartment complex in the heart of the Highlands. Spacious and comfortable living quarters with new and clean amenities. Great staff who are always available and go out of their way to make sure your needs are met.

Love this place!! The office and maintenance staff are impeccable, and the location and amenities are touch notch. Have lived here since November 2021, and absolutely no complaints. They are also super pet friendly, the pool and fitness center are clean, and parking is secure.

I moved in about 4 months ago and have not had a single complaint. Jessica was amazing helping me move in and make sure I was choosing the right spot for myself. Maeve is always sweet and helpful in the office and maintenance staff is quick to help out. I love it here and the staff really makes it worth it!
We love this apartment complex! It is got great security and we felt vey safe there. The apartment was clean, almost everything in it was new and in good working order. The office staff and maintenance staff are always available and willing to help with any of your needs. It is convenient to most areas of Louisville. We would still be living there if we lived in Louisville!
My son and I rented an apartment here for 2 years. The staff was very helpful, attentive, their maintenance man were available always for anything. The apartment was comfortable, clean, newly painted, safe and had good security! We would still be there if we lived in Louisville!
I lived at the Baxter Apartments for almost 2 years when I stayed in Louisville. I was a very stressed nursing student, but my apartment is something I never had to stress about. Any maintenance that I had was answered within 24 hours and resolved. Maeve and everyone in the office were so kind and I could just stop by the office at any time with questions or concerns. I hosted a few parties for my cohort in the clubhouse living room and we had a blast! Living at the Baxter made my experience so much better and easy. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else!
I moved here in August and so far it’s been pretty amazing, I mean it comes with a gym, parking garage (if you pay), movie theater, and the apartment it’s self is beautiful. I always move places after a year but I can’t wait to resign.
This apartment looks very nice but we have had several issues. Our apartment does not ventilate well, so it is constantly humid in the apartment and we have mold growing in our closet. Appliances break often - we are the first people to live in our unit and so far the dish washer and the dryer have both needed repairing. Finally, management left the garage gate open for several weeks and our car was broken into. I would not recommend living here.
