Spokane’s U-District, short for University District, sits just east of Downtown Spokane. The U-District is home to some of the city’s most prominent institutions of higher learning, including Gonzaga University, Washington State University Spokane, and the Eastern Washington University Riverpoint Campus. The goal of the U-District is to form a collaborative partnership between education and business to help both industries prosper.
The U-District is considered a live-work-play community, offering plenty of shops, restaurants, and coffeehouses to try in the neighborhood, along with close proximity to countless major employers and attractions in neighboring Downtown Spokane and beyond. The neighborhood’s walkable layout, as well as direct access to I-90, affords many residents short commute and travel times.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to give us you r feedback and positive review. We are so glad your move in was so easy and for your kind words. Have a great weekend, Joel
The academy building looks historic and its beautiful, while the apartment units themselves have a modern feel with dark wood floors, white walls and counters, and dark baseboards. The academy is non-weed, pet friendly community that keeps its grounds and building clean! There are multiple laundry facilities, a gym, and a rec room with a pool table, conference room, kitchen, and projector. There are multiple working elevators, keyless entry, and an Amazon hub for convenience. Overall I like living here and am heavily considering renewing my lease for another year!

We appreciate your positive review about your recent experience with us!
Overall, a good apartment with plenty of new amenities. The premise is safe and parking is convenient. Some nights are a bit loud since we are located next to a train track and a college campus and there are a lot of students.

We strive for 100% satisfaction, and it is great to see you had such a positive experience at The Academy.
The Academy provides quality apartments at a very convenient location for those who attend classes or work in the Gonzaga/Downtown Spokane area. The facilities are incomplete currently, which lowers its value, but the anticipated additions, if completed, will make the place much more enjoyable.

Thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Academy!
We just moved into our studio apartment and absolutely love it! We have a view of the park. It's QUIET despite several other folks moving in as well, and being next to a park with lots of kids in it daily. Brand new remodeled building with a glorious AC unit. We really can't say enough about our Property Managers. Lauren and Brielle have both been a joy to work with and are super professional. My spouse works at WSU so it's an easy walk for him to and from. (Which was the selling point for us. Though the history of the building was also huge for me.) I work from home so having an apartment with huge windows to let in lots of light helps me focus on my tasks at hand. The main building is a former girls school from the late 1800s. (that if it isn't on the historic register, it should be) before it came to life as apartments. The building behind it is from the mid 1900's but still just as historic. There is a great photo of the school in it's original incarnation in the lobby where the coffee shop will be. I think my favorite haunt will be the study area. Can't wait for the gym and demo kitchen as well. Currently the building is still under construction (as of 08/13/2019), and they are finishing the common areas as well as some of the apartments. Please don't let that deter you from coming to check it out if you are interested in a great place to live! The neighborhood is quiet and in great shape. No run down anythings in sight. Behind us is WSU's tennis building, and behind that the centennial trail and Spokane River. Parking does require a permit, and parking is not assigned. Needless to say the spaces fill up on the park side of the building quickly. Parking is first come first served, and vehicles must be moved every 2 days. (which coincides with Spokane City's parking code.)
