The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Tanglewood Place
We looked at 10+ apartments before deciding to go here and this place was truly the best choice. The management is wonderful. It’s a quiet place. Always enough parking. Sure the appliances are a little dated but they work! Maintenance is quick and awesome. The only downfall that didn’t work for us was 1) Being on second floor and 2) Not the best place if you have young kids. There is no spot for them to play. Even tho there is designated dog spots, people let them go everywhere. Only thing for kids to do is the pool really. Anyway, 5/5 recommend this place!
We're without water for 24 hours. Management took hours to notify anyone. No offers to help, nothing. Recently had a fire in a stairwell. Everything is old and nothing is ever remodeled. Insulation is terrible and electric bills are massive. Don't move here.
Property Manager at Tanglewood Place, Responded To This Review
Tanglewood Place Apartments strives to manage the community with the utmost consideration for our residents’ comfort; however, things occasionally happen that are completely out of our control. The property had a main water line into the property that broke underground around 1:00 pm on October 19, 2020 and water to the entire property had to be shut off. The manager promptly sent out notification via a letter in addition to emails on the afternoon of the water break stating what had occurred and if anyone had any questions to please feel free to contact the office, along with apologizing for the inconvenience. Tanglewood worked nonstop with the City of Tyle and plumbing company and it was not until the next day that the water was turned back on. Tanglewood continues to upgrade apartments and our maintenance staff goes above and beyond to ensure that everything in the apartments is in good working order.
I can not say enough about the staff and maintenance guys. There have been a few small things that needed attention and EVERYTHING has been taken care of in a timely manner as well as Chris and Elizabeth following up with a phone call to make sure things are fixed. Quiet. Clean. Friendly. Highly recommended.
I loved calling Tanglewood home for a year and a half. It was quiet and safe and the manager and maintenance crew were always nice and kept everything in tip top shape. If I ever move back to Tyler in an apartment I will be going back to Tanglewood!
What I love most about the complex is how quiet it is, and oddly it's in the middle of everything. You're near a lot of nationwide known banks and local ones. The mall is less than 4 miles away. There are big name restaurants near by and the junk food ones too. Walmart is close by and a Walgreens too. The apartment complex pays for water and they come with washer and dryers. Everything is pretty much secluded. The rooms are at a really great rate and they always come to fix your problem. Since its such a small apartment complex, it really makes a joy to walk your dog around and you will start to see familiar faces within a week. The apartments are a tiny bit outdated and there isn't enough room for your dog to do their business in the designated pet areas, but those would be my only complains. I feel safe living here. I love it.
Great location, great 1 bed/1 bath floor plan. However, there is no soundproofing between floors and you get to hear everything that happens on the second floor. Also, very expensive for 30+ year old apartments. Small complex with no workout facilities.
These apartments almost never fix anything their supposed to and blame it on the one guy that works for them. Most apartments have extremely noisy neighbors, apartments them selfs are very mediocre not worth the money.
