East Terrace is a quaint neighborhood in the suburban city of Mountlake Terrace, 13 miles north of Seattle and just minutes from the coast. Interstate 5, running towards the middle of town, makes traveling in and out of Mountlake Terrace easy. Within East Terrace, renters will find that the rental market consists of apartments in relatively affordable price ranges.
Lyon Creek, and the parks and trails surrounding the stream, are located on the northeastern border of the neighborhood and provide many opportunities for outdoor fun close to home. There are a couple of restaurants located in East Terrace, but most of the dining and shopping opportunities can be found right outside the neighborhood on 220th Street Southwest. Outside of the city’s eastern limits are many shopping plazas, restaurants, and a hospital gathered along the Pacific Highway.

There is a good community spirit here. On occasion there are events and gatherings for the entire community which are well attended. The grounds are very well maintained and include flower patches as well as flowering shrubs. Taluswood Apartments is conveniently located close to a nearby plaza with a number of businesses where residents can do their shopping.

Taluswood is a wonderful place to live. Excellent management and maintenance services, frequent upgrades (mailboxes , gym , playground ,etc). Apartments are nice and roomy. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained except for tenants who don’t pick up after their dogs and persistent smell of marijuana . Rental rates are consistent with the area. All in all a great place to live!

I have called Taluswood Apartments home for many years now. It is a quiet ,friendly place to live. The yard is well maintained and parkings are plenty. There is a creek running through the property surrounded by trees and the singing birds in the morning and evening is an added bonus. The staff are friendly and professional, and maintenance work is taken care off without delay.

The Taluswood grounds -- the lawns, flower beds and shrubbery are nicely maintained. When any outside work is going to be done on one of the buildings the residents are given written notice in advance. Both the maintenance crew and office staff are always friendly and helpful. We have no complaints.

Staff are all very friendly. There is plenty of extra parking but you may have to walk a ways. Grounds are nice but a bit too wet in places. Near bus lines easy trip to I-5. Rents a little high for the age and quality of buildings and the surfaces inside, carpets bathroom toilets bath sinks…

Taluswood is a wonderful place to call home. The complex is attractive and the tile roofs add a nice touch. The grounds are very well maintained and landscaped with colorful flowers. We enjoy a daily walk on the paved path through the wooded area behind the leasing office. The office staff have always been friendly and helpful to us. An added bonus is the convenience of a shopping plaza right down the street.
I feel like this is a nice place with nice staff. I've never had any issues that have not been resolved or addressed. I would recommend for sure!

The leasing staff was friendly and attentive. The grounds are so well maintained. It’s a very clean building and our neighbors have introduced themselves and been great. Our apartment was perfect when we moved in. The greenery around the property is really nice and it’s a very quiet building. We are very happy at Taluswood.

I'm a pretty new tenant here but so far I love living here. The area is quiet and I love the fact that there are trees everywhere that give it a real natural feeling. So many places these days are just boxes with windows. Management is very approachable and willing to listen....another quality that is lacking in some places. I have lived here for 10 years now, it is a quiet , safe friendly place to live at. The management staff and Maintenance team are very supportive and professional .The place is clean with beautiful landscaping. I love the homely environment.

This property has listed in its lease (and put out multiple subsequent letters to tenants) that this is a non-smoking residence. However, that is not enforced. If you move here, expect to live with cigarette smoke, even when your windows are closed, it seeps into your apartment from the neighbors. All summer you can't open the windows or enjoy your deck because of other tenants smoking various substances and using charcoal and gas grills on their decks, which is prohibited by the city. And tenants use the fireplaces for cooking food and burning trash all times of the year. They know the property management is not going to evict them for these violations, so it just keeps happening. That's why I am writing this review. Because these apartments have had 2 huge fires in the past because of cigarettes. So, in spite of Taluswood claiming a non-smoking policy, it happens all the time everywhere - even by their own property staff. If you have health issues or don't want to get any from prolonged smoke exposure, don't move to this place.

Building A reeks of mildew. I can't find mold in my apartment so there is something wrong underneath. Maintenance gaslights me to avoid fixing it. The "fully renovated" apartment is not fully renovated.

One month here at the community. Great response with staff and needs on small repairs on move in. Office is great and staff workers are welcoming.

Taluswood is an overall wonderful place to live! Management and staff are helpful and friendly; maintenance crew is responsive and thorough. My neighbors are friendly but not intrusive. I have truly enjoyed our 3 year stay. Were we not moving out of state, I would love to make this my permanent home.
