Talcott at Windermere

I've lived here for years recently underwent change in ownership and has been a living hell since, ceiling leaks when the dryer is used, mold problems they won't deal with, constant problems with nonhelpful front office. And recently they forced smartrent thermostat and front door lock, they took away the privacy bolt with no notifications. Took away key access to my own apartment. And now to change any code forces me to download an app I don't want or even feel safe using. Used to be a great complex but now don't expect any real rights or care or listening to you. Your just a number they don't give any kind of care to you as a person. Stay away they just give you a rehearsed reply telling you to be ok with less security and less privacy.

Loved living here when it was the Retreat but since changing management we’ve only had bad experiences. Loud landscaping at 7 am, maintenance/work crews entering our apartment with less than 24 hours notice, it took them a month to set up our new portal to pay rent online (after giving us 3 days notice that December’s rent would need to be paid by check) and the portal still doesn’t work properly resulting in nasty notes and emails from management. We also were locked out of some amenities over the holidays without warning. Definitely feels like they want us to leave so they can charge an even more exorbitant amount for rent.

Stay away. Place is not what it seems. They take your money and move on. Property is a mess.

The Retreat has been our home for 6 years and we would like to stay here as long as we can. This community has awesome location near all possible families daily needs and great neighborhood. The well designed community has very good apartment distribution and plenty of parking, pool, etc etc. Office staff are friendly and always willing to comply with our needs. The maintenance team is very efficient. We enjoy living here!

It's been over 2 months since I've been told that the check and a reissued check has been sent out. They have all the correct information. Even offered to come pick it up. When I have been able to get a hold of somebody I've been told that Maria is the only one in the office that can handle it when I'm spoken to her she told me to call back on Friday when I did she's been on vacation over a week. No one else can return the phone calls or give me an answer as to what's going on with my check. It is a shame that they weren't your money all up front cleared and everything to move in but when it comes time for them to give you back your security deposit after you've cleaned the apartment and made it move in ready for the next tenant they hold on to your money to make interest off of it. If they're doing this to me I can imagine how many other tenants they are doing this to. Save your money save yourself stress find somewhere else to move to.

The Retreat is the best community to live in. The leasing office is great people working there and very caring. The maintenance crew are the best. It is the most lovely place to live.

I've been with Retreat at Windermere since July 2021 I was first on Nature View Drive and currently on Bridgewater Crossings Blvd. I like the area. It's close to everything. Nice scenery.

I have witnessed some of the greatest tenants and families leaving recently. Why? Air Conditioners constantly breaking, Leaks, Mold, Broken down appliances, and more. All of the things YOU don't deserve for the prices they are suggesting. Please tour any other facility in the area and you will see just how wonderful and how possible it is to live in a community that wants you to thrive. This is not the place.

I've lived at The Retreat for nearly 6 years, and while the photos may look attractive, this is hardly the luxurious development it claims to be. Security is the biggest problem, with vehicle break-ins being the latest issue (more than 20 cars had their windows smashed in one night). Management refuses to make any changes. Lighting in the parking lots remains poor or nonexistent (some lights don't even turn on anymore). There is no nighttime security and, from what I can tell, there are no plans to add a night patrol. The amenities are fine, but unheated swimming pools and two working treadmills can be found at most apartment complexes nowadays. It's not much better inside the apartments — I've had a bathtub that hasn't drained properly for more than two years. The living room lights frequently flicker, and light bulbs burn out every few months, which the complex doesn't replace. Plus the air conditioning unit stops working about every six months. Maintenance is usually fairly prompt in responding to problems, but sometimes it can take multiple days during a Florida summer for the problem to be fixed. There are several apartment complexes in the area, and I'd suggest looking at one of those before considering a unit here. The community has lots of walking paths, though, so that's a silver lining.

Fantastic place to call home! Moving from out of state was overwhelming enough, however it was easy to choose The Retreat at Windermere over other apartments in the area. What I like most is that the apartment complex rather than being its own entity, seemingly away from everything, is a complex that fits perfectly within Summerport Village. Beautiful homes, retail, lakes, walking & biking trails all within view and walking distance. You are a part of a community, not just a parking lot with buildings and pretty amenities. As for our unit, wow! I swear, ours is nicer than the model that was shown. New flooring, newer appliances! We are highly impressed, and enjoy the space. Our family opted for a unit with a patio/balcony moving from a colder climate. It is well worth it if you invest in the space with furnishing and plant life. The staff has been great to deal with too! We have worked with Chandra, Sabrina, and Mandy. All genuinely interested in helping you, and making the process simple. Lastly, we love the pool. The grounds are beautiful, and the water temperature is good! Only real negative is that the poolside grills have been out of order, and we love grilling out. Hopefully once those get repaired, we can complete our experience. Thank you.

The Retreat has been our favorite apartment living situation so far in Orlando. My wife, and I have lived in 4 different complexes and have never had the type of community we have here. I know half of the people in my building and have come to know many of them well. We even sometimes rely on each other when we go on vacations to get packages/water plants/etc. Chandra has always been a pleasure to work with and she is always so kind whenever we need anything. She is always quick to accommodate and goes out of her way to help. The maintenance team is very friendly, they always say hello and they are great at their jobs.

Great option for living in Windermere. We hace 2 years so far, and we are delighted living here. The maintenance crew is awesome !!! Swimming pool and amenities are great. Office personnel great !!!

This is a very good place to live. Good service and very clean.

I've only been here for a week but so far it's been great the apartment is pretty nice and clean even though it's quite a few years old it is still clean and has good up to date appliances and flooring

It is a great place to live, beautiful settings, but would appreciate management commitment for security, maintenance and driving issues such as speeding.

I've lived here at the retreat for the last several months, and so far, it has been great. The space in the apartments was well planned out, and the facilities are nice.

The Retreat at Windermere forced me to sleep in a 82 degree apartment in August in Florida and refused that it was an emergency. This is not the place I want to live and that is not caring about residents.

The Retreat at Windermere is a cozy, quiet neighborhood that is in the middle of beautiful Windermere, with easy access to any place you could hope to go in Central Florida.

Excellent communication as always from the staff, and their prompt service is even better. We could not name happier with where we live.

We have loved living at The Retreat at Windermere. We love the layout of our apartment. There are lots of outdoor areas to walk/exercise. The staff has always responded quickly to any issues. We have great neighbors and love the area/ease of access to everything.

Do not live here, theres no security and management is awful

Good place for living

So far, is being perfect to my family. Very close to my kid's school, perfect area to ride and run.

Took way to long to fix the AC in a climate that requires AC to qualify the space as a livable unit
