Picture-perfect Sykesville is rich with history and surrounded by natural beauty. The heart of the city is its quaint, historic downtown, which is home to beautiful, historic buildings filled with boutiques, cafes, and specialty shops. Sykesville was even named one of the "Coolest Small Towns in America" by Budget Travel Magazine in 2016 -- and it lives up to its title. Just peruse the downtown shops and restaurants (start your day off with a crepe and coffee at the French Twist) and the community vibe, friendly shop owners, and colorfully-painted buildings will inspire you.
Of course, living in New England, you'll want to try crab cakes -- for those, head to Baldwin's Station, a restaurant in the former railroad station. Afterward, pick up some local cheeses and dark chocolate at Market Tavern, then stay for a craft brew at the back bar. Go boating and fishing at Piney Run Park and Nature Center, or shop the Sykesville Farmers' Market on Main Street every Sunday.

Property Ratings at Sykesville Apartments
It’s rather unfortunate I was calling to inquire about the rent in this apartment The lady who answered the phone was very condescending and when she asked me how many pets I had I mentioned 3, because I am moving from a home and she said “honey that’s not how we do business here”. I was trying to explain to her that one of my pets will re homed Overall I am no longer interested in renting there U just missed a great client Ciao
These are some of the worst floors in an apartment I have ever encountered. They squeak and creak horribly. We've had multiple complaints just for walking in our apartment. And the people above us have a dog that runs and barks and sounds like it is coming through the ceiling. Really ridiculous for the prices of these apartments. A safe area, but really the only reason these apartments are popular at all.
The apartments are outdated and constantly have maintenance issues. I’m on the ground floor, my apartment has mold spreading throughout the walls, it floods and the AC didn’t work for 3 months when I moved in. Don’t waste your time, energy or money on this place.
We have had a positive experience with office staff, maintenance, and neighbors. There is a positive standard of expectation for residents. The staff enforces rules related to quiet hours and other general considerations. The apartments are well insulated. We have saved a lot on electricity since moving here. Water is included in rent which is also a big savings. It is great to have several parks within walking distance and mature trees on property. I would recommend to anyone looking for a convenient, quiet, and happy place to live.
Excellent service. Finding a suitable apartment was quick and easy and management was quick to help us find a more suitable apartment for my mothers medical needs. Would highly recommend.
Love living at Sykesville Apartments. Good price. Large living spaces and bedrooms. Very quiet. Extremely clean. Always respond to calls. Good neighbor and schools. Easy to get to highways and plenty of shopping. Always feel safe. Can walk to resturants and shopping. Could not think of a better place to live.
Love the location of these apartments. The building and grounds are kept very clean. My only complaint is that there are not washer and driers in each apartment although the building laundry facilities are clean and easy to use.
