Surf Apartments

Surf A1A apartments is located behind a used car dealership, off a dangerous road, in the most crime-ridden area of Mayport. The complex has no gates, no cameras, and zero security. Panhandlers go door-to-door every day, dumpster divers drop by every night, and other trespassers are always creeping around the property. Cops visit frequently for drugs, theft, and domestic violence. Needless to say, you won’t be feeling safe at night. There’s only two new buildings in the complex. All the older buildings flood during heavy rain. You can easily see the water stains where the floors meet the walls. The attics, interior, and HVAC system are filled with black mold, dust, and more bugs than you could possibly imagine. The buildings are also not up to code; e.g. stairs are only 8" deep. At first glance, the units seem nice, but you’ll soon discover it’s just lipstick on a pig, and the serious issues under the surface have been ignored for decades. Management does not enforce their own policies. There are multiple pure-bred pitbulls on the property, dozens of unregistered vehicles (many abandoned), loud music every night, and dog excrement scattered throughout every plot of grass. They also do not perform criminal background checks on any of their applicants, and many tenants sublease their apartments to large groups of questionable occupants. For your health and safety, do not rent at Surf A1A.

Svenja was super great in helping me choose my townhouse, and also made it easy for me to transition to my new home at Surf A1A. I am downsizing from my house of 15 yrs., and feel confident that I will be happy here for a long time to come. - Also Thanks to Kelly!!

We loved living at Mariner's. It's a safe area and community. All of our neighbors and the staff were wonderful. The area is clean and well maintained. It is really close to the beach, and some great places to eat. It was by far the best place we lived in Jacksonville.

Great apartment and the location is perfect, plenty of stores close by and also very close to the beach. There is a new playground, dog park, and new fence around the always clean pool. Very affordable to be this close to the beach. Especially, I love how quiet it is!

I William Brandt moved into Mariner Village Apartments in Feb 2016 and have enjoyed my living quarters !!! The staff and maintenance crew are attentive to your issues and concerns !!! They updated the pool with new furniture and the pool with new exterior issues !!! Weekly groundskeeping n landscaping !!! Put new outside cooking grills with slab for outside BBQ's thru out the complex !!! Reasonable rent for all concerned !!! Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful !!! They also have community contests and prizes on certain !!! Have a good day !!!

I've never felt more comfortable dealing with apartment office staff! Kristy and her staff genuinely care about their tenants and their apartment complex. Always quick to respond to issues and always with a smile. So happy I moved here and I plan to stay for a while! - MB

Me and husband have bern here for a year when Horizon bought it out. We seen all the drugs prostitutes, etc. In that time we have seen how Ron and christy have done a great job with cleaning. Samantha is synshine. Always smiling. Me and my husband are very very happy with where we live. We have a brand new laundry room now. I would recommend it highly

Been here since Dec 2016 the Landlords and maintenance have been very professional and friendly. The apartment is a nice start for singles or couple starting a family. Not too far from the beach and the maintenance men are quick at repair time. DAG

Kristy took her time to make sure that I had the home I wanted as well as needed. By her being empathetic to my needs, I felt as if we had connected, building a working relationship I could trust! This a great place to call "home". The entire staff always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs, and are quick to attend to any problems that arise . The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. JLW

I've been looking for an apartment for a couple of months with not a lot of help from staff at other apartment complexes. Kristy, the manager here went above and beyond to get me the apartment I wanted and was so amazing! Even gave me a gift basket when I signed my lease! Highly recommended! New tenet, LB

We just moved in about one month ago and are pleased with location, price, and neighborhood. The apartments are a bit aged, but management works hard on issues you may have. Everyone working here are extremely nice and very pleasant to do business with. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

This is an Awesome place to live, there is a laundromat and pool on site. Soran & Danielle, who own Mariner's Village care about their tenants and keep the complex inviting and clean. They repair anything that needs repair very quickly.
