Property Ratings at Summit Apartments
I lived in this complex for 4 years just leaving this past July. The catalyst to my leaving was a neighbor climbing over the roof to my balcony, and the leasing office simply telling me that "safety is not in your lease". When I tried to break my lease early citing safety concerns they said if I did I would be charged for the early release. I waited 5 months to leave when my lease would naturally come to an end, and now they are charging me $1065.00 for "carpet cleaning". I have reached out to the office and confirmed with Laura that this was simply a cleaning and not a replacement. I am waiting for the property manager to call me back. Regardless, I have very few good things to say as this complex is only concerned about their bottom dollar and not at all about the residents who entrust them with their money. There are dozens of other properties in the area to rent from, take my advice and spend your hard-earned money on one of them and avoid Summit at all costs.

The WORST APARTMENT I LIVED IN USA !! I hope I can give less than 0 ratings . Most probably its the WORST APARTMENT in 50 miles Radius !! The management people are worst than horrible .. Old And very high consuming Appliances , Making sound all day . High electricity bills come even you try your best . In Summer last year when the heat wave was there , The AC unit burst off and they took 1 month to replace after calling them several times , They will ask you why you are calling the office several times . It will be their fault and they will complain about you .And the guys who are working will not even listen to your words ... they are like robots .. they will not listen to you and talk to you like they already know the answer. With the heat wave and air conditioning not working for 1 month … you can imagine the we suffered .. All the appliances are old and consuming higher electricity making sounds and worst. They will promise you that they will fix everything after you move in and they don’t listen after that . Do not be fool by going with the five star reviews , I do not know how the people are giving 5 star reviews. Please read all the reviews before signing a new lease . The kitchen sink broke down few times and it affected the floor and they are coming and don’t know what they are fixing …. And you will see the same issue after couple of days … Please guys think 4-5 times before signing the lease and read the reviews before doing anything Dont think that you will get the deposit back, even you clean the apartment so thoroughly . They will definitely take it in any way .. they charged me 250 for cleaning and 250 for other things (total 500 deposit is gone ).. I swear, I cleaned each and everything .. WORST!!!! WORST !!!!! WORST!!!!
I've been trying to contact them for over a week about an available apartment to schedule a tour. I called and emailed from so many different avenues. I emailed them through their site, set up appointments through their site, called two different numbers they have listed, and sent emails directly to Remi, which is what his assistant told me to do when I stopped by in person. I've gotten back nothing but silence. You'd think they'd be more interested in someone new wanting to give them money every month. But oh well, bullet dodged!
DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! Seriously go anywhere else. The management is horrible. They do nothing to solve any problems. There’s abandoned cars in the parking lots. Multiple drug dealers live here. They will nickel and dime you for everything and keep your deposit when you move out. The worst place I have ever lived.
The best thing I can say about Summit apartments is the location is good. The first day I moved in the bathroom had construction debris all over the floor and I had to request them to clean it. That should of been my first sign of the property management here. I soon found out that my apartment had no fire extinguisher and the smoke detector had expired. My washing machine then broke and the smell of sewage was constant throughout my apartment. It took them over a month to fix this issue. After all this was over they then tried to take my security deposit saying they had to make repairs.
Apartments are nice enough... until you go to get your security deposit back. When we opened what we thought was our returned deposit, we instead received a very vague list of charges: carpet damage, floor damage, appliance damage, that cost us our full deposit. We only lived here for 1 year and kept the apartment very clean. We have a dog, but the dog did not have any accidents. By the looks of this list, you would think we lived in a college frat house. Before moving, we thoroughly cleaned. I had read about others being cheated out of their deposit, but thought “we will just be very careful when moving out and deep clean.” Not the case. Be very wary as it seems AJH management will keep your deposit for an extra profit. Do not rent here unless you plan on spending some time in small claims court. What a nightmare!
Staff is wonderful. Beautiful place to live . Apartments are to close to what we need. I am very pleased with my apartment.. community is very friendly.
Summit is a wonderful place to live. The residents are all very nice and friendly people. The owner, office staff, and maintenance are very helpful, friendly, and great people. The property and apartments are beautiful and very well maintained. I recommend these apartments to anybody looking for a great place to live in new jersey.

I moved in mid April 2016, and I am very pleased. Nice apt, nice landscaping, good location with shopping and access to highways, friendly residents. The neighboring communities are also attractive.
