Property Ratings at Summerwood Apartments
We enjoy living here because we have support from our neighbors, staff, and maintenance. There are ups and downs on maintenance issues (sometimes it gets down immediately; others may take time), but Kaitlyn and Mark usually reply back to us. We appreciate Ricardo, Miguel, and Jose's work who seem to be the trio now here at Summerwood. Please continue this experience to be positive!
I usually like it here at Summerwood however they are undergoing new ownership and the transition really drags. The construction, extra inspections and closed down amenities doesn’t help either. Hopefully they can get it together at the leasing office and corporate!
Great staff members very friendly, kind, nice and knowledgeable. The size of the apartment has lots of space and closet space. I am pleased and excited I moved here. Kind Regards Laura & Bella (woof)!
The complex is well furnished with a GYM and a Common Room which has everything you might need. The area between the buildings is beautifully designed with landscapes and children areas. There are many places where you can do your barbecue fully equipped with the basic amenities.
Appliances in apartments are really old, and need very frequent repair almost weekly sometimes. Maintenance crew does a patchwork that makes things work briefly. Even after multiple complaints to replace no action taken.
Its been good living in summerwood. Location is good very close to San Thomas. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful to live, the community has gym, swimming pool and clubhouse.
Very poor maintenance. The appliance are showing their age. The stove keeps breaking every week and patchwork fix isnt helping . Staff starts to shout and fight with you when you complain things not getting fixed property. They have no courtesy - ignored my instructions to not touch the stove and started fiddling with the stove even after I said to wait first so that I can show the issue to the manager.
Dog friendly and child friendly. Great location, close to the park and schools and in a safe neighbourhood. Buildings are a little dated. Maintenance staff are pretty good.
We are happy here! We love to see the new upgrades happening around the complex! We will be staying longer. Perfect for families! Pool and hot tub are our favorite

I find living here a great experience. The office staff is so warm, and very helpful. The grounds are well kept. They seem to be right on top of any maintenance issues, which is very nice

Very large gated complex in the heart of Silicon Valley. Perfect for very busy professionals and new families. Very professional and responsive management team. Gym, pool and any repairs get fixed right away.

The area is beautiful. The staff are great, they take every task hands on and leave you feeling heard and like you've been helped. Some of the neighbors make questionable decisions but that has nothing to do with staff. We love living here!

Ignore that this is advertised as a non-smoking complex. They probably have more smokers living here than non-smokers. They do absolutely nothing about it. Heaven help you if you need to call maintenance for anything. Their idea of fixing things is to shine there flash light on it and say it all looks normal to them, and proceed to close the ticket. Due to that I was out of AC and heat for several months. To bad they don't have better staff, as the complex is quite nice. It's just getting older and needs some serious TLC.
Summerwood- is safe, clean, has a bounty of amenities, and is overall a very quiet campus. The last time I was this comfortable was in a stand-alone home. Summerwood over-delivers on all fronts. Choose to live here with confidence.
A wonderful place to live. Great neighbors and beautiful landscaping. Facilities (pool and BBQ areas wonderful for family gatherings. Smallest apartment is quite spacious with plenty of storage space.

I’m very happy with the appearance, maintenance, cleanliness of the entire community complex.
I love staying here in Summerwood. First of all I am safe, the amenities are superb and new. I love going to a clean gym. The neighbors are friendly. And most of all the office staff are helpful, cheerful and friendly.
This is my second year here and overall, it's a good place to call home. Friendly office staff and maintenance people. I would recommand this apartment complex if you're looking for a quiet place to live in the South Bay.
It's a really nice and safe area with lots of well maintained greenery. Gym is good enough, pool is designed more towards relaxing/lounging. Apartment is spacious but kitchen size is smaller than what I need, but pretty standard for bay area. Appliances are older.
We had a really smooth move in process and the staff was super helpful. We have only been here a few days, but we love the environment, the amenities and our place. We're happy to be here!

I love living here. It's an older facility, but is constantly being improved. There is a lot of green space, pets are welcome, and management has always been respectful and responsive to me. Sometimes it takes a while to get things fixed (specifically the plumbing issue in the laundry room), which is why I give 4 stars, not 5.

Great neighborhood and professional service. Community has indoors everything necessary for a great standard of living, spacious green areas with barbecue and picnic places, state of the art GYM and well maintained pool. The community is also next to a great park and shopping areas.

I like the neighborhood of Summerwood. It is very safe and quiet. The park across the street is popular among dog walkers and tennis players. It's a very nice neighborhood!

We are very pleased with Kaitlyn, Mark, managers, and Ricardo, maintenance manager, who have been attentive to our needs in general. The excellent service has come back! Thank you! We are hoping that the tree close to our section will have leaves and branches trimmed and cut more aggressively like they did many years ago. We are constantly overwhelmed by olive seed droppings, flowers, branches, and leaves falling from that tree, giving us about 9 garbage bags full of rubbish (just with seeds, for example). We've been having this problem for years, and we were told this tree is not that important to be pruned. We told Kaitlyn that it is hazardous because we and neighbors have slipped on the seeds and fell. Kaitlyn is the one who answered our concerns that it will be pruned next time. So, we were content that we got a response and not the silent treatment or false information that the tree belongs to the city!

The community is large and lovely, with spacious apartments. However, the apartments are showing signs of age and wear, suggesting that more maintenance could be beneficial. Regarding communication, there's room for improvement in responding to resident emails in timely manner.

In general this is a well run apartment complex. Service requests (other than AC issues) are handled in a timely manner. Many updated amenities including new clubhouse and outdoor BBQ areas.

The staff don't read emails, or at least don't reply to them, even if they have to do with signing a time sensitive lease. They constantly take time off for awards and "trainings" but they can't do the bare minimum of replying to an email regarding legal documents. There are plenty of other emails and calls they don't reply to as well. They call you instead of sending replies to emails to avoid having written records of their incompetence. They stopped a project to update the buildings' windows (improving weatherproofing) to spend money on updating their gym/cabana (which they use for their "trainings") and install fire pits (who's paying for all that gas?). That's been since they changed management after years of mismanagement where they had gallons of water leaking into the ground and were charging the residents of the nearby building for it. They still have tons of water running off into the drains even after switching to recycled water. Nice place otherwise.

I will reach out to you directly regarding your experience so that we can improve on your experience with interactions with our team. I can assure you we are not purposely not responding to your emails and calling you instead so that there are no proof of emails. The clubhouse has been used once for a team member training that lasted two hours and our office was closed once this year for our company excellence awards. I do apologize if these times were at an inconvenience to you and other residents. The gas used for the fire pits is paid directly by ownership and is not billed back to the residents. The renovation of the gym, clubhouse, and outdoor lounges were completed to be another great aspect of the community for our residents. I am sorry to hear of previous experience with the water leak that occurred with the previous management. We are currently doing a property inspection to ensure there are no run offs caused by the irrigation system. Really good experience with the staff, Janelle has been very helpful throughout all the moving process and has cleared all our doubts. The only suggestion I would add is perhaps to include a future plan for extra noise isolation in bedrooms and windows. (Wall stuffing and double glass windows)
So far the first month has been very easy and enjoyable. The apartments aren't the most modern but they are good for the price. The staff has been very helpful and responsive with any issues. The location is amazing and everyone has been very friendly. The gym is less than ideal but that's my only complaint.
I feel safe here and comfortable. The staff is always so kind and helpful. The always make me feel like they care about me like i am family. It’s location is so convenient to shopping, transit, entertainment, and medical facilities (which is important to the senior community).

We really enjoy Summerwoods: large apartments, patio, fire place, nice grounds and gated. We also enjoy the amenities like pool, bbq, fitness center and community room

I have lived here for a little over a year and have had a positive experience. The staff are kind and helpful and the maintenance staff have always been helpful.

It an awesome community but the rent you pay and what you get is not worth it. There has been more management change than the number of years i have lived here. Love my neighbors and made some life long friends here but overall experience with how this place is managed, has left us in feeling there is no respect for tenants. I lived at my last apartment for almost a decade.

After researching and looking at multiple similar apartments in the area from the moment I toured the property, I knew that I found my home. It has everything that I wanted and more. Convenient location, gated parking, pool/spa/gym, beautiful grounds, and the best 1 bedroom size/layout that I saw. I haven't been disappointed yet and look forward to living here for quite a while.

Summerwood is located in a very convenient place and is pretty quiet although it's located on a busy street. We love our neighbors, and it's good to have a good rapport with the staff. We've been here for over a decade, and we are hoping the quality of their service will go back to what it was before-excellence with follow-through care.

Overall, we enjoy living at Summerwood and will continue to live here until we Could afford to buy a home.
I’ve read many complaining about construction,management, etc. This is all part of life. Construction will happen at some point. So here we are. I’m looking forward to the improvements and can’t wait to hit the gym again! My experience is so different. I’ve lived here for six years and my animals and I love it. It is extremely animal friendly. Wonderful landscaping for dog walking and we feel safe here. We are grateful for Summerwood. Not to mention the beautiful park right next door!

Like everyplace around here, Summerwood is expensive. Plus, it's a "mature complex" so, don't expect not to occasionally have plumbing and other maintenance problems. However, management tries hard: There's 300 units here and it's just like a "little city". The tenants seem very nice and the maintenance staff is, "second to none". It's a good value for your money.
