South of the Souris River, the Souris Valley stretches south of Downtown Minot and to the east and west of the city, encompassing a large swath of farmland as you head out from the city center. The Souris Valley region is developing rapidly, with new homes and apartments being built in the neighborhood, but you can still find that wide-open space if that’s what you’re looking for.
When you want to shop, dine, or visit the theater, Downtown Minot is a short drive away and provides such great destinations at Taube Museum of Art and the Railroad Museum. South Broadway is filled with restaurants, from popular chains to local favorites like Broadway Bean and Bagel Co. Close to shopping, elementary school. Great place to live. Manager: Whitney friendly and helpful. Last month we had our 1st snow blizzard in 25 years. Right after the storm they were clearing the parking lots and garage doors. Very impressed. Quite neighborhood/neighbors. I have lived here 1 year and signed my contract for another year. I'm sure (if) I ever needed any kind of maintenance it would be dealt with as soon as possible.

I have been here for 6 years now… I love how close it is to the school and it’s less than a mile from Radio City Park. The apartments are spacious and have a lot of storage. It’s just a great place to live!

Bedsides having a property manager on site,24/7 maintenance and spacious living accommodations, the other really nice feature about Southwood Apartments is that there are thermostats in every single room, so you can adjust the temperature to your liking without inconveniencing the other family members!

This apartment complex is perfect for me due to it's location. It is right next to the elementary school. My kids can safely walk to and from school without crossing any roads. And during the summer the school playground makes the best backyard. Also, there is a wide paved walking/biking path to the neighborhood park where we regularly use the splash pad on hot summer days. And since it is such a short distance (1 to 2 miles) to many stores and restaurants, we will often bike instead of drive.

On location apartment manager is on top of work orders, executes in a timely manner. The lawns are beautiful and well taken care of around here! So many great sidewalks, parks and the view is beautiful around the golf course.

The Great: Nice quiet neighborhood. Whitney is a great manager and always has prompt answers or help to offer. I've been pleased with my stay here the past 3 years. You won't find a better complex in this area of Minot. Improve: There's security...to an extent. I've been told there's a communication system that syncs with your phone to allow guests to come in, but it's never worked and has never been fixed. Which means you either have to run down to let everyone in, or give out the code to people. I'll let you guess which one most people do. I've come to find out that the pizza places and random people around town know the door code already, which is very bothersome. The code's only been changed once in the 3 years I've lived here. No security cameras in halls or entries. The free WiFi is definitely "free." Mine only works 40% of the time. Thank goodness for phone unlimited data...it's taken me two hours to upload a 4 minute YouTube video before. ~KM

Thank you very much for your review. Southwood does offer controlled entry which does limit access to the buildings. Door codes are changed periodically. We recommend meeting deliveries and guests at the entrances. On your WiFi, please contact Whitney, SRT is in the process of exchanging modems as there can be an issue with the current modems. They also offer upgrade packages to the service for individuals who need more service then the basic package offers. This is the best apartment i have lived so far.Very affordable and safe to live in.Property manager Whitney is really doing a good job.She answers and solves all problems asap.She is also dedicated to making sure tenants are comfortable.The only area that needs improvement is getting all new appliances and taking the old ones out.Generally,its so worth living in.

We moved to Minot, ND from California and Southwood Apartments is the first place we stayed at and it has been a wonderful experience. It is a quiet, nice and very clean place. They are able to accommodate to almost everything and we look forward to keep staying here. They are located to close to everything that we would need such as Walmart and Home Depot. Any questions or concerns we've had with our apartment were either fixed or addressed in a timely manner. I haven't had a single day where we've had any regrets choosing to stay here.

I fell in love with this place because it is spacious, safe and serene. I love that it’s fairly new, tidy and has a view to die for. (I live on the 2nd floor, by the way). The manager, Whitney is very friendly and accommodating. ?? I highly recommend this place. ???

We have been at South wood for 18 months and just signed another year lease. We were in a 2 bedroom and just moved to a 3 bedroom. Out apartment manager Whitney is amazing and has fixed every problem I've ever had within 24 hours. Very nice, clean and safe place to live! ??
