Property Ratings at Southoaks Pointe Apartments
I lived here last year and it was a nightmare. ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES You will at least see 10 roaches a day in your apartment. Staff was terrible Building was not clean Homeless people sleep in stairwell Elevators rarely work Washer and dryers are terrible. Hard to find parking on street . Save yourself and don’t give this place a chance like I did.
I live here currently and it’s hell. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE! I was so excited to have my own apartment and this made me traumatized of trusting apartment management and properties. The whole building is infested with roaches. When I first moved here I legit saw at least 30 a day. The whole family. Mom, dad, baby, toddler, teenager all of that! Dead and alive. They suggest for your apartment to get sprayed and treated every time the exterminator comes. Mind you roaches don’t die from spray, you have to feed them poison to kill them off and roaches will eat another dead roach. They come out the electric sockets. Dig themselves in the floors and everything. I have done everything in the book and I’ve never gone a day without seeing a roach since I moved in June of 2022. They say if you keep your house clean they won’t come to you but remember you share walls with people who don’t keep their home clean. The roaches are your roommate. Not the main manager but the other younger girl that helps manage doesn’t even do her job and lied saying she never got a complaint about roaches when I asked her about it knowing the whole building is infested. Mind you the water is always getting shut off and half the time they don’t even put out a notice letter. When I take a shower the water drains so slow the water doesn’t go down till you shut the water off. Homeless people sleeping in the stairwells making it stench and very unsafe. This place needs burned down to the ground. Please do not make the mistake I did and take your time to find the right home because you will be living in a roaches home. It’s not yours, it’s the roaches and be prepared to not be able to wash up, brush your teeth and be able to keep up with your own personal hygiene because they cut off the water without putting out any notice and hopefully you don’t interrupt a homeless persons sleep. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE FOR YOUR OWN MENTAL AND SAFTEY.
Pipes are constantly breaking down. The new "manager" is rarely in the office so problems take forever to fix! Main issue is the roaches, they are in the walls and they can not control the problem! Please stay away, I hate seeing innocent people move in.
I lived in this complex for over 6 years and every 1 star review is VERY accurate. It hasn't changed in since the first review back in 2015. When I first moved in they hadn't changed the carpet so it was stained in multiple areas, clearly worn down, dirty, and rough. A few blinds were broken, the bathroom mirror was half covered in paint or some stain. I was insured these would be noted and I wouldn't be charged for them when I exit the apartment but of course I was. There are soo many roaches it's disgusting. You put your plate down for 1 second and you're guaranteed to have a roach on it day or night. Management will post memo's about their rules and never enforce them. You put in maintenance orders and never get responses to them until you follow up with them. Management also doesn't let you know when they've entered your apartment. Every other apartment I've lived at has left a sheet letting me know they've entered my apartment and what they did while in it. The janitor lady hides the entire day in friends apartments or hers if she lives here, but she's learning from the Manager who is never in the office. There are screaming children that play in the courtyard with no regard for the apartments around them, even though this is against the community guidelines for the complex. When Ruth took over as "Manager" she basically took away all the amenities that you pay for with your rent. The gym was open 24/7; she without notice to tenants said the gym and pool are only open during office hours of 9am-5pm Monday through Saturday. Soo basically for those who work we get the gym on Saturday only. And even these hours she doesn't honor. They close both early if they feel like they want to stop working at 2pm. I've been kicked out multiple times. Your water gets shut off at least once a month if not more. There is absolutely no water pressure so be prepared to stand directly under your shower head and basically take a whores bath. Their reason for not being able to fix it is that the Management Company ANZA doesn't want to replace the old pipes. I'm sorry, that's not my issue. And we won't talk about how almost every apartment has at least 5+ people living there in studio and 1 bedroom apartments. This wasn't allowed at any other apartment I lived in. All tenants had to be on the contract minus minors, but minors still counted as a tenant, and there was a limit I believe of 2 for studios and 3 for 1 bedrooms.
DO NOT RENT HERE! Infested with Roaches and Bed Begs! Management doesn't care, never fixes anything. Something is always broken, water is turned off, pool is green, washers and dryers always break down. Don't be fooled by the price. You can get so much better for your money without the risk of bed bugs or danger of roaches.
This place is terrible. The water is shut off multiple times a week and the management is never in the office. Half the parking lot is empty and she won’t allow us to park in the lot. There are bugs EVERYWHERE. STAY AWAY
I lived here for over 3 years because it was the cheapest place I could find. Everything is broken, no one fixes anything and there are THOUSANDS OF ROACHES. In the apartments, outside, even in the laundry room on the washers and dryers. The pipes leak constantly and there is a ton of mold. Find something else!
Worst manager and janitors EVER!!!! They don’t fix anything and it’s so dirty. Also the elevator doesn’t work and NO PLANS on fixing it anytime soon.
Moving in was a horrible decision. So many problems with the building/unit. Roach infested!! There are leaking pipes, water is constantly being shut off. The manager is beyond rude and issues take too long to be resolved. The elevators never work properly. One day they work the next they break down. That is beyond unsafe, please stay away from here or any other Anza Management owned properties. If these people truly cared then they would lower rent because you aren't receiving what you are paying for.
The management is horrible Fernando. The do not fix anything at all. It's roach infested. You can definitely find a better place.
The noisest complex. Kids use the courtyard and around building to play outside and under peoples windows. They are rowdy and you can't even get to the laundry room or parking lot without kids running everywhere screaming and yelling all night and weekends morning day and night. It's incredibly disruptive trying to relax or work on do anything with all the yelling outside. Another friend lives in a complex with kids and she said they aren't allowed to use the courtyard as a playground. This complex has no rules enforced and they let them use the complex like it's a playground. Animals also all over and people smoking outside, all things they said weren't allowed.
Been living here for months now and it started out bad with a leak but was fixed promtply by the 24 hr maintenance team and leasing office is open everyday which helps a lot for all questions you may have. The staff is responsive and very friendly. Good nieghbors and the pool is kept cleaned daily. Plus 1 to having a soda dispenser on site for an emergency Pepsi!
