Southwest Topeka is a neighborhood situated along Interstate 470 about five miles west of the city’s center. Southwest Topeka is filled with premier shopping and residential areas. The West Ridge Mall and more shopping plazas attract people from all around the city. The residential parts of the neighborhood are situated in the center and western part of the neighborhood. Residents will find several choices of affordable apartments and a few single-family homes for rent in the area. A few parks and trails dot the city too, but larger parks like the Big Shunga Park can be found right outside of town. Southwest Topeka is also convenient to the Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center in Gage Park, as well as the parks and trails along the Kansas River.

Property Ratings at Southbrook Apartments
This property is located off a quiet street. It's really close to Wanamaker and my job. Most neighbors keep to themselves. They have alot of units for a really great price.
I love that it is close to shopping areas, it is a nice area with quiet atmosphere. The staff are very caring and compassionate, maintenance gets things fixed quickly.
Totally recommend! Maintenance is on top of work orders, office staff is always nice during in office visits or phone calls. Nice place to live whether long or short term
Staff really goes above and beyond to try and help residents. Have had no issues since new management came into play, managers are working really hard to clean up property and make it an enjoyable place to live!
Management very rude and argumentative. If you try and explain anything manager doesn't want to hear it, she is quick to argue with you versus being helpful. If you are renting any kind of low income or subsidized unit you are under constant scrutiny for your housekeeping or anything of the like. They will threaten lease violations if they come in and you have a sink full of dishes. They do not fix anything appropriately, nor update anything that has been in the apartment for any length of time. They would rather charge you to fix something then take care of something that is outdated. These apartments are outrageously priced, and everything is outdated. Save your money and find somewhere better!
Management is very rude not helpful and not understanding. Maintenance destroyed property and was never reimbursed. Was overcharged rent for a unit that was outdated and not kept up. Do not live here.
Quiet property. Nice to have a big balcony. Close to highway, so easy to get around. Overall a great please to live.
