Flushing is a small suburban city located about ten miles northwest of Flint along the banks of the Flint River. Distinguished by its abundant historic architecture, Flushing’s Main Street Historic District is home to countless antique homes and buildings in a variety of styles representing nearly two centuries of the city’s rich heritage.
Riverview Park sits adjacent to Downtown, offering a tranquil enclave in the heart of the city, and Flushing Valley Golf Club just down the river provides a great opportunity to hit the links without even leaving town. Throughout the year, public events like the Walleye Festival, Concerts in the Park, and Flushing Summerfest bring the community together.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Somerset Apartments
I was very leary living here. Too many shady characters hanging around. Some even tried to get into my apt.
The manager Michelle is great, always goes above and beyond for her residents. Great neighborhood, and convenient location, walking distance to downtown Flushing.
I have lived here since 2014 and things in the beginning were taken care of and managed. I'd say it has been 2 maybe 3 years with this person in office now things have not been taking seriously! Only becoming more and more of a joke each and every day. These kids and teenagers here have no respect and their parents are no better!
I have been living at Summerset apartments for the past 2-1/2 years and I have seen so many people come and go. I like where I live because it’s close to the laundry, mail box, and only one flight of steps.I especially like the new management because she cares for people and it’s not all about money with her. She has the best since of humor and will fight to make sure everyone is comfortable. Thank u to Summerset apartments for giving my son and I a home. Great full Lisa j
I have been here almost a year. I have never had a problem and the manager is super. It's clean and friendly neighbors and staff. The manager is always willing to help answer any questions effectively and efficiently.
i applied to this community and found it to be wonderful comforting experience the process was quick and easy. management has been very professional and helpful in regards to maintenance request and any and all information needed. again thank you somerset michelle i a great manager.
The hallways are extremely nasty and have either a bad odor or marijuana smell. The upkeep of the apartment buildings themselves are horrible. Tendants leave trash in the hallways.
