Sierra Pointe Apartments

I lived there for 2 years and I loved it. Is such a great community, really nice people living there. Others reviews are accurate about getting complaints about your pet being pet. I got several complaints from a neighbor that doesn’t like pets because my dog was barking, not late at night, in the middle of the day. But the worse was at move out. I never lived in a place that took all my deposit and a looooot more. I take care of where I live and always get all my deposit back, but not here. But a friend of mine advised me that this is a common practice here. So when you move out, be prepared to not see a penny of your deposit.

Nice place to live if you like to drop your stuff and receive cranky emails ALL the time about your pets being pets. Claims to be pet friendly but management would prefer if your pet was a kenneled pet rock. When management sees you on site they look automatically the other way. Corporate says they will work on training employees. You can train skills, not personality. If they are nice during your tour. It’s a lie.

If you’re looking for an apartment - LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE. Do not rent here. It’s not worth the headache or money. Let me begin by saying that I am required to give a one star review, I would select zero if I could. This apartment complex will lie to you at move in and do anything they can to milk you of your money. A couple months ago, they sent an email stating that EVERYONE was required to move their vehicles so they can sweep the parking lot/garages ?? or your car would be towed at your *own* expense. Within 24 hours! Didn’t care to provide enough notice to us then. There are elderly tenants in our complex that needed more time in advance to get their belongings moved and got towed at their own expense because Sierra Pointe doesn’t care at all. The pool is basically unusable because they don’t care if you’re a resident or not. So entire families/parties take up all 6 chairs provided. So don’t count on being able to use that amenity in your grossly overpriced rent. You could find a 2+ bedroom apartment in wdm for less than a one bedroom here. The hallways also consistently smell like trash/puke. For the amount of money everyone pays, you’d assume this wouldn’t be an issue. Dogs are always barking, and staff does nothing about noise complaints (they’re too busy sunbathing at the pool to be an actual landlord). Kids are constantly running down halls, even past their “quiet hours” rule. Three property managers have come and go. They were actually good people and cared about residents. It’s clear the people left are the individuals that could care less about job integrity. Don’t waste your money here. Any other complex would be better than Sierra Pointe.

I love living here! Great amenities, and the management here is PHENOMENAL!! They address every issue/question promptly and always have a resolution. I am definitely renewing my lease!

Hi I have lived at Sierra Pointe for 18 months. I am transferring to Nebraska for my job. I wanted to share what a great experience I have had at Sierra Pointe. Kristin a Jen do an amazing job, and really make it feel like you are part of a community. From the Saturday breakfast to all of the fun events. The maintenance staff is great. Jim was here when I moved in, and did an amazing job taking care of any issues I had. Mike is here now and you could not ask for a more friendly, and accommodating technician. I highly recommend Sierra Pointe.

Absolutely horrible experience. Problems with all appliances (no ice maker for 3 months, leaking dishwasher to the point they had to replace the kitchen floors, back up of water into the kitchen sink, no dishwasher, etc). A theft of my personal articles by maintenance people resulting in a sizable insurance claim (and the building prides itself on being crime free) loss/ruination of a very nice oriental rug which they refused to credit me for. Oh, and when I asked for an early termination due to a job change/move, they REFUSED to budge even when my lawyer got involved based on all I've had. NIGHTMARE. Just wrote a check for $3500 to break the lease. Best $3500 I've ever spent to be rid of this place. Leasers beware. Stay away from this place!!!!!! Wish I could give ZERO stars.

Where do I begin..First we were told when we moved in that no one would be in the unit next door because it was a model unit and yet when we moved in, the unit was occupied and the neighbors were very noisy. Never got a response back as to why that was. Then we had a family emergency come up and my boyfriend needed to move back home to Colorado for that, we gave them two months notice that we were leaving, and our options were to pay $3000 to break our lease OR give them permission to find a sub-leaser (meaning we'd be in charge of everything till they found someone). We moved out in August and our lease was till October 24th. Never heard back from them in regards to my questions about moving out. And of course they didn't find anyone to re-rent my apartment too, so I got a bill of $5,148! I'm livid. I could of found someone to move in before I moved out, had I known they couldn't find someone. But I trusted them. They said, "Oh the Vista is one of our most popular floor plans and since you have a one bedroom there will be no problem finding a new tenant" Yeah right. My biggest regret was thinking they would be professional and try to help out they're tenants, but they're just another money hungry apartment complex. I do not recommend.

Sierra Pointe offers luxury living in West Des Moines right off Jordan Creek Parkway for a quick commute to the mall or within minutes from I80 to connect quickly to Downtown for an easy work commute. Apartments feature spacious closets in both bedroom and bathroom as well as in-unit washer/dryer and all kitchen appliances included. Perks of living in this complex include access to a brand new fitness center, entertainment room, business center, dog-washing area, underground parking, and outdoor heated pool. The staff at Sierra Pointe host fun challenges as well as get togethers with free food and prizes monthly making it more than just a place to live but also a fun community-atmosphere. If you're looking for a safe, clean, enjoyable place to live--Sierra Pointe is it!

I moved into Sierria Apartment from a 4 bedroom home at the Glen Oaks Country Club into a 2 bedroom apartment and it is by far the most wonderful place to make a home. This place is like living in a resort every day with all the bells and whistles. There is even a spay room for your pet to get groomed. Towels, Treats,Hair Dryers for the pets.(;;) I m so amazed at all the conveniences. with the swimming pool with salt water, no chlorine. An underground garage even a large .storage bin for extra space. All appliances are new,and very updated, floors , cupboards, and huge 2 bed room closets, patio, and even a room to rent at no cost for special events by signing up a head of time to reserve. If you want to shop we are close to the Jordan Creek Mall and Movie Theater and even every type of restaurant you want to enjoy.. Churches, ice cream and last but not least you have a Handy Man Available anytime you need help... Come Join us you will love this low budget home.!!!!

All new, owners didn't skimp on anything! Huge kitchen, granite countertops, amazing cabinets, salt water pool, dog spa, underground parking. Sierra Pointe apartments are luxury all the way.

This apartment is awesome! It is close to everything, right behind us there is a beautiful walking path that is very well maintained. The pool, business center, pet spa and entertaining room make it so convenient that you don't even have to leave the apartment building if you don't want to. The surrounding area has plenty to do including a very upscale mall. Best of all the staff here bend over backwards to do anything and everything you need them to do!

This apartment is the first apartment I have lived in with my fiancé. We have a one bedroom with a sunroom attached instead of a balcony, which makes it nice to sit in and soak up the sunshine. We feel safe since the building has controlled access from the outside and also the underground garage. The apartment manager and leasing manager are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. They get to know you personally so they can help you further with your decision on the right apartment for you. It is pet friendly, which makes it nice when when my fiancé and I moved in, since we wanted to get a puppy together. The pool is a salt water pool, which makes it different from a regular chlorine pool. The managers also think of their residents and make living here fun. We have had a pool party, they set out treats every Saturday for us, and they also ask what they can do better to improve living here. When you have a problem within your apartment they are on top of fixing the problem that day or the next, so that you can go on living. The only problem with living here is that the walls are thin, and the rent could be a little more decently priced.

Sierra Pointe apartments are new apartments in West Des Moines, IA. These apartments are modern, but still very homey. My current apartment here has dark wooden cabinets with silver handles and granite countertops that pull together a variety of browns and grays. The countertop wraps around to make an island which includes the sink. The island perfectly fits 4 bar stools across. The flooring in the kitchen is a gray wood and pulls the entire kitchen together. There are black whirlpool appliances, which include a refrigerator with ice machine, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. The family room is large with a short shag carpet, ceiling fan, and patio doors. Each apartment comes with a balcony or a 3 seasons room. The walls are all light cream and can be painted. In the hallway there is a coat closet and another closet that includes a front-load washer and dryer. The bedroom is very large and includes a walk-in closet. The bedroom also has a ceiling fan and windows on the far wall. The bathroom is on the opposite side of the hallway as the bedroom and is large with many cabinets for storage. The sink has a cabinet with drawers under it and next to the sink is a floor-to-celiling cabinet for storage. The bathroom includes a typical bathtub and shower. All cabinets in the apartment and the toilet seat are all ''soft closing" so that they cannot be slammed closed. The entire apartment has raised ceilings and is the perfect space for anyone looking for a beautiful and modern apartment. Outside is the pool that has tanning chairs as well as cushioned chairs with tables and umbrellas. There is optional underground parking and there is a dog spa. Other amenities are the office space equipt with computers and a printer, a gym, and a community room available to reserve for private parties. Sierra Pointe is right by all the hustle and bustle of West Des Moines, but is in a quiet area off of Jordan Creek Parkway across from a beautiful church. This is definitely an apartment I would suggest to anyone looking to move to this area.

As owners of a few homes, My wife and I decided to sell out and relocate to these apartments. Coming from a 5, 000 sq ft home for the last 10 years, we have high expectations and needs we would like to have met. I can tell you this place is stunning! It met all of our needs and then some. From the spacious 2 bedroom we rented, down to the exceptional customer service from the staff. Ruth and Christine are very friendly, very accommodating and are there to see to all your needs. The property is a nice place to settle in for short term or long term. If there are any issues mechanically, Jim is there to fix whatever the problem in a timely manner. You're 12 minutes to Downtown, 5 minutes from Jordan Creek Mall and just 20 minutes to the airport. The amenities are more than what you would expect. Most of the people in the building are working professionals and it is surprisingly very quiet. The underground parking is perfect for when the weather hits. The pool is a nice size and is hardly ever busy. Wood floors, spacious kitchen and family room, nice sized bedrooms which will fit a king bed, big closets and laundry in the apartment. All this keeps me shaking my head, thanking Kevin at Execustay for setting us up here on our relocation. We like it so much, we decided to stay long term and rented our same unit!

I moved to Sierra Point in May and have had a great experience making this home. It's a great location in West Des Moines and the office team is very helpful and willing to work with you. The apartment has many upgrades including granite countertops, huge walk in closets, saltwater swimming pool, free 100MB internet and underground heated parking.

Sierra Point is the best apartment complex I have lived in. With great amenities and even better staff. I have recommended many of my friends and co-works to move into this building as well. Many who have done so! With a great location in growing Des Moines you are only a short walk from the Jordan Creek Shopping Mall and other great restaurants. With a few apartments left I really recommend getting here today before they are full!
