Shoal Creek Apartments

The leasing office was very professional by providing the courtesy to assist with the leasing process to ensure a smooth transition into my apartment. Once, I had an issue with a water leak, the issue was resolved within 24 hours, and they worked with me on my water bill. I highly recommend this complex to anyone that is interested in moving to Montevello.

These apartments as a whole seem pretty nice, especially for the price, but the management is awful. Whenever my roommate and I first moved into the complex, we were given a unit that wreaked of cigarettes and had mold all throughout the apartment. Management tried saying that there wasn't any mold and that the apartment had been cleaned thoroughly, but after unceasing complaints and sending of pictures yet constant denial by management that there was anything wrong at all, we were finally given a different unit. (Surprisingly, a couple days later, we spotted management putting brand new carpet in the old unit). Even with that being done, the unit we were given had plenty of cosmetic damage, holes in one of the bedroom ceilings, and dysfunctional doors. The holes in the ceiling took almost the full length of our lease to be fixed, the existence of which constantly being denied by management, and most other things weren't fixed at all. Definitely would not recommend.

I enjoyed my stay at Shoal Creek Apartments. I have a cat so it was awesome to be able to keep her with me instead of at my moms house. Also, one time I needed maintenance on the air conditioner and the maintenance guy came and fixed the problem by the end of the day. Overall, it was nice to feel that the staff was ready and willing to help me when I needed it.

This is a great place to live, the apartments are spacious and well priced for a college students budget. The owners and secretary of the complex are so nice and attentive. They have always sent maintenance whenever it's been asked for in a timely fashion. The secretary is always available to help even when I've called after office hours have closed. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Montevallo because the service I get here is unparalleled!

While the apartment was nice and priced well the service you get from the secretary is horrendous. If something goes wrong she automatically thinks you broke it and treats you like a criminal. For example my AC needed to be cleaned and have coolant replaced. When I called to have it looked at because the unit wasn't running correctly she said it was my fault and practically refused to help when all it needed was 15 minutes of work from a trained professional.
